    Apeks Transmitter Flooded

Yes, with the transmitter on our i750TC. As the i750TC was a peace of crap anyway, Aqualung made us an offer for a new i770R including a new transmitter that was more than gracious. I would ask my dealer to try to get a good deal on a new transmitter.

Sounds like the issue I had with a Fantasea housing. Ended up getting a Nauticam houseing that works perfectly.

Rebreather Went out of breath at the end of a dive with on a CCR

I was on Apremilast at that time for around 6 months. Between my skin doctor, Celgene and my diving physician we decided to get off Apremilast. After that the coughing fits became less and less. In the meantime coughing has been added to the list of side effects.

Rebreather Went out of breath at the end of a dive with on a CCR

Hi, not an asthmatic at all, passed all my lung exams with flying colours  . It turned out that the medication I was taking for my psiorasis was the culprit. Stopped taking it and am back to normal since. For a while I was limiting my self to "rec" dives where I could live with 0.7 ppO2...

Rebreather Went out of breath at the end of a dive with on a CCR

Purely anecdoctical here as well: At the height of my problems I started coughing around 40-45mins into the dive when running at 1.3 ppO2. As the OP stated he is asthmatic his lungs might be more susceptic to PTO.

NASA's solid state CO2 detector: suitable for rebreathers?

From the paper: "Based on the results of the humidity study, we need to remove the moisture from CO2 in the air stream.". So IMHO no use in rebreathers (yet). Not to mention what Dr. Simon Mitchell has stated as prerequistes to have a proper and usefull reading in a rebreather.

considering liveaboard to Red Sea; can't do a lot of currents

Please stay away from Egypt - it's too crowded any way  I would not do BDE on a one week trip, expecially if the trip runs the usual Thursday to Thursday, as all boats will hit BD&E on the same dates.
