Has any one experienced an "unexplained" leak on ascent with this set up ? After a 40 minute dive. max depth about 23 metres, I took a few photos - mixture of macro and mantas - then tucked the camera away for the ascent and noticed that the leak detector I'd installed was flashing nicely...

I've been to Sipadan by myself and usually end up hanging around the DM when I'm not avoiding the crowds :D Enjoy !

Tammy - that's interestng. I've never been offered that particular dive site in 3 trips to the area (lots of dives on Sipadan). I've swam past the entrance and seen a crashed and burned turtle (good for a don't drink and dive advert)... I also would not want to go in without proper equipment.

Does Matt double as a beer boy as well ?

I could be tempted to dive with EVOLUTION DIVING if they have their own pizza boy - talk about full service :D

Most people wear wetsuits. I used full 3mm + hooded vest last time I was there. Your 3-4 Sipadan dives will probably all be on the same day.

Looks like I may be spending some time there this year with visits to folks from the Philippines, White Manta, Indonesia etc etc...

Out of the Blue will hook you up with Atlantis. El Galleon / Asia Divers is pretty good but watch out if you get the room facing the sea above the Point Bar...it can be a little noisy if there's a party going on - which is nearly every night :D
