    $1200 to spend

I think you should take a buddy from Scubaboard on a dive trip. Preferrably the first one who brings it up.

    Hilton Head diving?

Jason, from Sea Island Divers just sent me an e-mail saying that they are planning to dive the Betsy Ross on August 19. He is in Beaufort which is about a 45 minute ride from Hilton Head. His number is 843-575-3562. I don't know if he is associated with the above post, but it wouldn't hurt to...

New Diver Trip Report (long) - Ambergris Caye, Belize

Maybe this is common knowledge but it wasn't to me. I had trouble equalizing and my instructor told me to get horizontal in the water with my troubled ear facing the surface when equalizing. It seemed to help.

Diving in West Palm Beach Area

Hey Lynn, I just got back from WPB. Shoot me a message next time you're planning on going. Be sure to post a trip report when you get back. Which LDS are you going with? I'm right up north of you in SC.

Media Luna on Roatan and SingleDivers.com

I haven't been on any of their trips, but I met some of them when I was in Bonaire. Kamela (the organizer) seems very nice (and organized) and the group seems like they would be a lot of fun to dive and hang out with! Hopefully, I'll be able to go on one of their trips soon.

Diving Blue Heron Bridge / West Palm / and Jupiter areas

I posted this in another thread but it's not coiming up and the print is very small, hope you can read it: Hey Everybody, Well, I did what I said I wasn't doing and left WPB without diving but I did do some investigating. I got caught up with family and friends and had such a wonderful time...

    Dive Buddies/friends in WPB area

Hey Everybody, Well, I did what I said I wasn't doing and left WPB without diving but I did do some investigating. I got caught up with family and friends and had such a wonderful time, that I didn't make it diving. About the area: I (trolled) around up under BHB and it looked a little scary...

    Dive Buddies/friends in WPB area

Oh, I forgot to mention I was taking the time machine down. So the correct dates are June 28th - July 2ndish. glee719 - I'm lucky enough to have a friend that lives there on Singer Island, but unfortunately, she's not able to dive this weekend b/c of a medical problem. Miss Hilton doesn't...

    Dive Buddies/friends in WPB area

Hi All, I"m making a quick trip down to WPB this weekend (June 15 - 17ish) and have found myself without a dive buddy. So, here I will be in WPB and there is no way I'm not diving! I will be staying with a friend on Singer Island. Maybe I'm dreaming this, but I thought I had read on SB that...

getting into a WET wet suit... aarrrgh!!!

When I was getting certified my instructor would jump in the water holding her wetsuit and put it on in the water so I tried it too. Works like a charm!

    Eating in Bonaire

I agree with the posters re: getting breakfast at Buddy's. It's a good option and good breakfast foods. We also took PB&J's for lunch b/c who has time to worry about lunch when you're trying to get in as much dive time as possible? Pasa Bon pizza is great (you have to drive to get this) and...

Cayman Islands ok to dive for OW Cert.?

Okay, everyone has convinced me...I don't need a plastic card to dive a few feet lower. I actually was scared of the bogey man at 61' or a scuba nazi who would grab me and send me back to the boat alone and hanging my head in shame. I'm pretty good at both bouyancy control and air but I've...

Cayman Islands ok to dive for OW Cert.?

I don't think I was very clear in the title. I'm already certified but only OW and Nitrox. Was thinking of getting AOW before the trip but I don't think I have time. So, I was hoping that there would be plenty of diving for me above 60 ft. What do ya'll think?

    Seasickness

The patches are prescription drugs here in the U.S. I'm not sure about other countries but your doc shouldn't mind giving you one.

    New girl on the block

Hi Lynette, that sounds so exciting! I'm from the South originally but live on the East Coast now. Good luck with your dive shop and thank you for supporting orphanages!

Cayman Islands ok to dive for OW Cert.?

I'm thinking of going on a Cayman Brac trip but was wondering....aren't most dives below 60 ft? Will I still enjoy myself if I'm not able to go below 60 ft or should I go on a trip that offers more shallow dives?

    Seasickness

Hi Toxman, I've used everything. I'm the person who gets motion sick in a car, fair rides, snorkeling from the beach...you get the picture. So the Scopolamine patches are the only thing that's worked for me. Be sure to apply the patch a day or so before diving. That works for me.

    First dive vacation

I would check out Bonaire if I were you. You could rent a truck and go see the donkey sanctuary, birding, see Flamingos and iguanas. It's very laid back and not a lot of other water sports, but your 10 year old could try windsurfing as well. You could drive around and choose your dive sites...
