Couldn't breath hold as long as I wanted.. so I took up divin' in 1974..(breathing underwater was then and still is magical...compared to today..our gear was rustic) after diving we'd go grab something to eat (divers ///dive...hydrate...and eat or die) Then we'd share our story..what we wouldn't...
Am so sorry for the family left behind. The only report we've received so far, is that this diver went in 15 or so minutes before his buddies did...when the buddy pair went in, a big fish was seen..thrashing along the side of the ship..maybe it was an AmberJack..they then followed the line...
Back in the day..we did a blow n go..I think we called it a bail out from depth..(j-valve. no pressure gauge..(butt divin'..if your butt rises you're running low on air)...reg was hard to breathe from shallow and only got harder deeper..when it failed it just shut down..no more air..we learned...
..Blood in your mask is not normal...(am thinkin' you knew that already)...your dive buddy needs to be examined by a Dr...sooner than later.. (ear, nose, throat specialist would be best)
Loved "Sea Hunt" .. (but putting on all that gear seemed like too much trouble) was content to freedive.. till I watched "JAWS"..decided I couldn't hold my breath long enough to avoid the big one..
Best thing I ever did..been an avid diver since '74
Been divin' with SeaQuest's "Zuma" for about a year now..rolls up, folds up..light weight..and sturdy....the inflator takes up more room than the BC..between pool and ocean must have used it over 400 times.....didn't think it would hold up to the abuse I subject it to..but it does!
It's a back...
Tropical..
Short answer is Yes..(PADI)...you can add to your experience..a dive at a time..any time anywhere....and each full specialty certification (PADI) can be counted towards your advanced level...for deep..an Instructor will require some experience with you prior..
A guided dive..does NOT...
Op's got all kinds of info now...some really good info..some.... not.
..this forum..is not a class..
Why not just do the class?:acclaim:
(couldn't help myself...had to comment....just my 2cents)
If you're hauling your own boat..and divin' everyday...rent for the week. Most shops don't give refunds if you don't use the gear , cause your boat broke down..or whatever...If you're goin' on charters..rent gear as needed. It's lots less expensive..when you add it all up
If you'll be drivin'...
Congrats on goin' pro.
We in the Keys are "Warm Water Divers"...yet the water does get chilly in the winter...
Last year was the coldest on record..the coldest since records have been kept.
The big chill came the end of Dec..and stayed
Started the month in a shorty...then added a beanie..by...
From a conversation I had with our PADI office (N.America)....
The slates...32/36/O2..can no longer be order in separately....not even a set..
In order to get a set of ean dive slates replaced...you have order in the crew pack..
