Question How soon after a microdiscectomy

My wife reached out to DAN just after I made my post. In short (DAN gave a very long and detailed response) DAN says it is best to wait until the surgeon clears her for "contact sports". Thanks all for your responses.

Question How soon after a microdiscectomy

My wife, in her early sixties, slipped on a dive boat (fully geared up) last Thanksgiving and ended up rupturing a disc between L2 and L3. After months of PT and several injections, she had a microdiscectomy in August. We have the impression that the surgeon is not a diving expert, as she has...

Question What's it? Shore dive last week.

My wife spotted and photographed this at 18 feet. It was TINY, as you can tell by the size of the grains of sand it was on. We have been looking at all of our usual resources, but can't find a match. We thought the spot under the tail would make it easy to identify, but no joy as of yet. Anyone...

Avis, thumbs down. BonairePros thumbs up!

Thanks for your report / warning. We have two weeks booked with Avis as part of our package with Bonairpros. We will keep a close eye on everything when we pick up at Avis. We have had good luck with Bonairpros in the past and I am glad to hear they they stood behind you during your issues with...

    Question Hydros Pro Rides up

My wife has a Hydros Pro that constantly rides up. The BCD is a Woman's Small and seems to be adjusted properly at the surface. On entering the water, with very little air in the bladder, it floats up, with the shoulder straps several inches above her shoulders. Even after being fully deflated...

    Current water temperarure?

Can anyone diving this week let me know the water temperature? We arrive at the end of the week and my wife wants to make sure she has the "perfect" exposure protection. Thanks

    It's the (very) little things.

Thanks! Yes, it was. (Thanks for reminding me what his name was.) He was great spotting the little stuff.

    It's the (very) little things.

It's not too easy spotting the little nudis, but thanks to the Tres Pelecanos guide (can't recall his name) showing it and my wife taking the photo, I can see all the details on this Painted Elysia.

    A few small stuff photos

Very nice set of photos. Thanks for sharing. There is so much to see in Cozumel, when looking for the small stuff. I wonder how many hours I spent, under water there last week, with my magnifying glass in hand? I had no luck getting decent pictures of the anemone shrimp (that didn't like to...

Shocking sighting in front of Hotel Cozumel

I am not sure if I am feeling positive or negative about you all changing the current of my original post. I guess I will just try to remain neutral.

Shocking sighting in front of Hotel Cozumel

I would say "strong" would be an understatement. Our last dive was 72 minutes south and 20 minutes back. Letting the current bring us back.

Shocking sighting in front of Hotel Cozumel

Lesser Electric Ray spotted and photographed by my wife, in front of Hotel Cozumel, on Saturday. The first time with this species for us. :)

Trip Report Scuba Gear Suddenly Not allowed as carry on from Cozumel

Interesting thread. We came back yesterday and had no issue with all my wife's gear as carry on. (Her gear is MUCH more expensive than mine and she doesn't let it leave her side.) My old, hand me down gear from my wife, was in checked luggage as always.

    Covid testing in Cozumel

We came back yesterday. $25 (US) for the on site test at Hotel Cozumel. It was done by / results given by the International Hospital. The results came back quickly to our email and the hotel was given the results too. (They even printed copies for us, as a "just in case" at the airport.)

Taxi rates from (outside) the airport

Thanks gopbroek, After a two hour drive to the airport, a red-eye flight, layover before the COZ connection, we are more than ready for the short walk to the taxis and avoiding the van squeeze. For years now, we have been using the taxi option, but it has been a LONG time since we have stayed...

Taxi rates from (outside) the airport

We will be going to the Windham Cozumel. (When will I convince myself it isn't the Hotel Cozumel and Resort?) Does anyone know how much, in pesos, it would cost for two people for a taxi? Thanks, BTW Feel free to start another thread if you want to discuss to pros and cons of the shuttle vs...
