Recovery diver dead, two others injured searching for body - North Carolina

I have been following this story for the last 16 hours now but all I have are guesses. The most I've gained from articles is they are investigating and will concentrate on the gear. To take out 3 divers at once, I wonder what was in the tanks. But some media is saying the first diver was down...

    Tethering Policy?

I'm pretty late to this party but I'm all for tethering. Ice Diving = Line attached to harness with locking carabiner. River or Open Water (pendulum) = Line attached to harness with snap shackle. In all situations we tie a hand loop to hang on to the line but if we need both hands, accidentally...

    Galileo Sol - Error 3

Is anything more frustrating than a dead dive computer? I guess many things are but this just really grinds on me. Last day of my warm water trip, turn my computer on to check tank pressure (first dive of the day), and "Service Mode; Error 3". As soon as I got back to my room I started...

The search for the perfect BC

I still stand by my ScubaPro LadyHawk. It fits all your requirements except for pockets. There's a good half inch of nice soft material lining the neck and I've never had it dig into me. There's also a foam back pad. It is a back inflate design. D-Rings: 1 one each shoulder and 1 at each...

    boot popping out while diving

Do your boots fit up to the top where the two layers come together? I've never had a boot pop out. Or, are you getting air in your suit and is that what is forcing the ankle open? I know I sometimes end up with trapped air (I dive the same suit) and I go vertical to get it to come into my...

    Diver Down

I was very excited when the bookstore actually had this book in stock and I got to bring it home. But, the more I read, the less impressed I was. Maybe because I'm a regular reader here on the boards? I think the discussions threads here are much more useful than the situations which were...

    Operating Equipment with Thick Gloves

I have 5mm gloves and my hands were so bad after a 30 minute dive in 48F water that it was almost impossible to grip and get out of my semi-dry suit. Don't know if I'm turning into more of a wimp or what, but cold is not good.

    How to load multiple photos

Once you have the the url of the image you can use img tags like this: We absolutely loved LCBR. Having them carry my gear back and forth on the boat versus making my way to the back all geared up was a big back saver. And, leaving the BC, regs, and weights on the boat for the week was...

Camera decisions, decisions. What would you buy ...

I like RAW because it allows me the ability to color correct much easier. I just use the Canon Digital Pro (free) software. Since you're interested in "relatively uncomplicated to work" I'd say stay with the point and shoot. While dSLRs are pretty easy now too they cost more and can be more...

    How to load multiple photos

I know the previous posters have suggested photobucket but I'm not a fan. I started off on picasa (google) then settled with flickr (yahoo). Both have free versions with the option to upgrade and allow for bulk uploads.

    Software Preferences

I shoot with a Canon and I use the free Canon software. It does plenty all on it's own so why would I spend money on something like Photoshop when I could buy more camera gear and take better pictures to begin with.
