I don't understand why people don't want to get their regulators serviced by their LDS.??? I dive an old SP Mark V that I have serviced every other year. I have it checked every year. Maybe I have more faith in the reg tech. He's old and has been servicing regulators for probably 20 years now...

I have a mark 5 and two 109's from 1980. I still get them serviced at my local ScubaPro dealer. Great reg. I got them from my father, who purchased them new in 1980.

Had to have the battery replaced in Suunto Vyper 2 the other day. Had my LDS do it and it cost me five bucks. I couldn't be happier with my Suunto computer and would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Seems like people making bad decisions, but I hope for the best. I've done some white water kayaking up on the Payette river. This was in the middle of the summer and it was still cold. I think people underestimate the coldness of the water and how quickly it will negatively affect them.
