    How to travel with gear?

Depending on what the airlines are charging it may be cheaper to upgrade to first class. I was flying in the US the other day and US Airways wanted to charge me $70 bucks for both my checked bags. I had the option to upgrade to first class for $50 bucks on one leg of my trip and I got two free...

How to check used regs without going to your LDS?

I don't understand why people don't want to get their regulators serviced by their LDS.??? I dive an old SP Mark V that I have serviced every other year. I have it checked every year. Maybe I have more faith in the reg tech. He's old and has been servicing regulators for probably 20 years now...

Scubapro Mark VII and AIR 1 - Who still services them?

I have a mark 5 and two 109's from 1980. I still get them serviced at my local ScubaPro dealer. Great reg. I got them from my father, who purchased them new in 1980.

Buy a used Uwatec Aladin Air Z-O2 or a new Suunto Vyper?

Had to have the battery replaced in Suunto Vyper 2 the other day. Had my LDS do it and it cost me five bucks. I couldn't be happier with my Suunto computer and would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth, Western Australia - May 2012 II

Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing. I currently live in the US but I have family in Perth. What's the best way to travel up to Exmouth from Perth? Looks like I might skip trying to go the the GBR and just go up to Exmouth.

    When will they ever learn.

Seems like people making bad decisions, but I hope for the best. I've done some white water kayaking up on the Payette river. This was in the middle of the summer and it was still cold. I think people underestimate the coldness of the water and how quickly it will negatively affect them.

Ear Trauma at 15 metres = Never Dive Again

Let me first say I hope that you make a full recovery. I suffer from bilateral high frequency hearing loss and tinnitus. My tinnitus never really goes away but does seem to be worse when it's completely quiet. It doesn't stop me from diving. I should also mention that my hearing was not damaged...

LP Prices no longer a Bargain?

I can attest to the cost of shipping to Australia. Most of my family lives down under still and shipping anything is expensive. An Aussie (living cold and dry in Boise Idaho😥). Sent from my Super-Duper iPhone using Tapatalk

My Official Introduction to GUE - Long Report with Mind-Numbing Detail!

From what I read it sounds like the OP did a private training day. I have also done this with another GUE instructor and can't say enough good things about it. The nice thing about these at least in my experience is that there is less stress than in a class. --- - Sent from my Super-Duper...

    White's fusion?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will send an email to the GUE instructor (Guy Shockey) I know and get his thoughts. I have dove a Fusion before and can get local support for it. I can also get local suppport for DUI for that matter. This is a rather large gear purchase for me so I want to try...

    White's fusion?

So I currently don't have a drysuit and I'm looking at a used White's Fusion. Is this considered DIR or GUE compliant? For people that are DIR, thoughts on this drysuit? I would love to be able to afford a MTM DUI or Santi suit but it just isn't in the budget right now. Thanks Alastair Sent...

Why No Fundies for DIR Agnostics

To the OP, I would suggest a private training day with a GUE instructor. That's what I did with Guy Shockey. I travelled a long way and spent a lot of money too. I only did one day of training and it was worth it (for me). The nice thing was that there wasn't any stress and I learned an amazing...
