    Akumal

Merry Christmas everyone! We are heading down to Akumal in a couple of days and wondering if anyone has been diving in the area recently and if the diving has been good. It's been a few years since we've been there. We will be in a condo on Half Moon Bay and have always dove with Akumal Dive...

Anyone else on the Sunwing flight back to YYZ April 15 & 16?

You are not alone in your bad experiences with Sunwing. I sure as heck will never take a chance on them. ‘We were held hostage’: Growing concerns by Sunwing passengers over treatment on weekend

Cool! It's an enormous job and they can definitely use all the help they can get.

I've been seeing STINAPA's Facebook posts and photos about how bad it is on the east coast and Sorobon. If you are on Bonaire now it sounds like they could use some help. STINAPA Bonaire Sure hope it is not washing up on the west coast or Klein.

    Reef condition

Our 3 week vacation comes to an end on Sunday morning when we fly home to Calgary, and the only crime perpetrated on us is the one that requires us to return home and go back to work. But seriously, I wonder how any wanna be thieves would have any time to loot an unattended vehicle with the...

    Have you checked Airbnb?

    Fish ID

Thanks for the ID. Guess I need to change the name of the photo.

    Fish ID

Not the greatest of photos because it was so tiny, around 4-5 inches long. Possibly a banded snake eel or a harlequin pipefish? Apparently banded snake eels are not native to the Caribbean though. We spotted it in around 30 feet at Tori's reef today.

    La Dianas Leap

I do not think that's right. That location is much too far from the road and too far from Karpata. The location of the site is marked on the west side of the road with an arrow pointing to the water.

Bonaire from Toronto with Sunwing - DO NOT BOOK

I saw that too but I doubt this is Sunwings fault. Bad luck for those Westjet passengers who had to bail down the emergency chutes but at least it was on arrival to Toronto and not departure to Cancun.

Bonaire from Toronto with Sunwing - DO NOT BOOK

Ditto on that. Our last trip to Cozumel we flew to Toronto and direct to San Miguel. It sure beats the Cancun-PDC ferry route. That's the only way we will go from now on.

    Thanks for this Bas.

The current has been going north to south every day since we arrived albeit negligible. All the same I would rather drift than kick, so we will wait until it's going north again.

    La Dianas Leap

Thanks, never thought of asking on Bonaire Talk.

    La Dianas Leap

Most definitely. We dove Sunday and Monday and it was going the wrong direction. We will likely do Tolo first to confirm the current. How long does it typically take to get to Karpata?

    La Dianas Leap

We scouted out the entry today but want to make certain it is the right location. There is no yellow marker stone, but it appears someone has drawn an arrow on the asphalt pointing to it on the edge of the road. It appears the jump point is just to the right of where the trail comes off the...

Something special at Something Special !

It is one of my favorite dives for ease of access, and I have a hunch we will be doing it more than once on our upcoming trip after this sighting.
