I have the above tank and it comes with the smaller threaded valve in DIN only. Even with an insert, there is no dimple on the back to hold the set screw on the reg.
My guess is it's a 5/8th thread. Is there a yoke valve in this size (3500 psi) and if so, where could I get one?
I havent kept a log since I got a NAUI card in 1969. 30-50 dives every year since on my same, beat up card.
I signed up for a dive charter this winter and they won't let me play in the water without it so I'm getting an AOW certification with a PADI instructor. We were doing a "deep dive" this...
Thanks for the help with putting the 1st stage together. I used mineral oil (baby oil) for the environment chamber and it seems OK. I had it down to 60ft on the weekend and it worked as it should.
My next question concerns the 2nd. It's set up to start flowing at about 1"...maybe as low as 3/4"...
I am wondering if the plumber friendly polypropalene glycol antifreeze can be used as a substitute?
I have not been able to locate a silicone based fluid that is food friendly. The closest thing id silicone disk brake fluid and I'm not ready to go thereyet!
I was given a box of parts and one of the treasures was a Conshelf XIV I believe. (1HP, 3LP ports).
I have many spare parts lying around so I thought I might as well assemble a spare reg. Even with a new HP teflon seat, I get rapid IP rise.
My eyes aren't really good enough any more to check...
Sorry for the cross post but I think I'll get more help in this section.
I inherited and old USD M2 computer. It has the factory changeable battery.
The LDS says "are you kidding? That thing is older than our technicians" So my question....and don't slam me because I know computers aren't...
I would like to believe I can change this battery myself without sending it off to the factory. After all. it's about 20 years old so if I break it it's no loss.
Anyone done this before?
I dropped my 1971 Healthways branded tank for a hydro on Tuesday.
Picked it up today and the LDS employee (about 19 yr/old) was just filling it with air before handing it over to me. Apologised for not being able to bring it right up to max because they only had a 4000lb air bank.
She said my...
I was given a Sherwood Magnum Blizzard regulator/Octo because people took pitty on me for diving old equipment!
It functions in the pool but I wanted it looked at before trusting it in real water.
My local diveshop says it's not worth his while to service it. (SRB3200-3300)
We don't have a...
Hi, all.
An old guy here with a cert dating back to 1969 saying hello!
I seem to be rediscovering an interest in diving and thought I'd hang out here for a while and absorb information.
I have most of my equipment which was very good in its day but it certainly has no "bling" factor to it...
