    How is YOUR diving etiquette?.......

Wow! That was more of a lecture than a blog post. Still, I agree with Stacy on about all of her points. If everyone followed her rules dive trips would go a lot more smoothly. The stories wouldn't be nearly as good though!

Dive Report - Ocean City - April 3

I was on that trip and it was really cool to see the seals. I had never seen them before either, but I googled seals in ocean city and found a number of links.

    Running out of air!

My wife and I had this issue initially, but over time we have (mostly) evened out on air. Now she probably has slightly better consumption than me on average, but not always. She's smaller than me, so all other things being equal she's going to use less air. I would wager that your husband will...

    Hyde's Quarry?

Last Sunday (5/31) it was 73F at the surface and 37F (no joke) at the bus, which is supposedly the coldest part of the quarry. The thermocline was at 12 ft, and below that the temp was in the low to mid 50s.There seemed to be another marked temperature change at around 25 ft. Above 12ft you...

What to Consider as a New Student to Diving?

Bob Vincent, log books are great. I don't think that people should have to keep them, or that they should be checked, but if you had actually logged what you had dived during the last 20 years I think you would be happy to read about those dives. It's a life thing. I've logged all of my dives...

    Air Hog

Dude, your situation is normal. Totally fine. Dive more and breathe more and you'll have it. Nothing to worry about at all. You don't need bigger tanks and take everything else with a grain of salt.

    SSI Divemaster?

Apply for and get the job you want. Your certifying body will matter little. Your experience and enthusiasm will matter much. Although levels among agencies are different, the same overall diving standards apply for SSI, PADI, and NAUI.

    Average age of scuba divers

My wife and I are both 32. I know that the most recent Under Sea Journal said something about ages, but I don't remember and I no longer have the magazine.... oh well. I believe the general trend in age is rising. go figure.

Can an OW instructor deny referral?

If you've passed your written and pool you must be able to do your test dives with any NAUI instructor, anywhere in the world, right?
