Can't speak from experience, but we just landed on 3 days in a house near Matei to do Bouma, Tovoro Falls and Lavena Costal walk then 7 nights at Paradise to dive, dive, dive. We did the Bligh waters from Raki Raki 5 years ago and I spent about a year researching Taveuni for our trip in March.

We spent 10 days at Wananavu in 2014. It was fantastic. It is a long boat ride ride to the Va Tu Ra passage with either operator, but well worth it.

I meant Blue XTC or Aldora, on site operators no bueno!

Sorry to open a can of worms, I appreciate the input. We will book with one of the two operators. I would prefer to pay the dock fee at the resort as recommended, but it will be worth it for us to take care of it which ever way it shakes out.

We have always stayed and dove with Blue Angel in the past, but this trip we want to rent a condo at Reef Residencias in May and be picked up at the pier for our 4-5 days of diving. Do most operators pick up at San Francisco? We were looking at Aldora and Blue XT Sea.

We spent our 20th at Wananavu. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from Nadi. There is shore diving, but the house reef isn't anything spectacular. If you interested in pics or details it's all here Fiji

We've been to both resorts twice. If you want a "DIVE" vacation there's no comparison. The shore diving at CCV is so accessible and superior to Blue Angel that you can make up the extra you pay there alone. The dive operation at CCV is far superior to Blue Angel as are the facilities. Blue...

We were there last year for independence day in September, it rained hard the entire week. There was a Hurricane hitting the pacific side and the bands wrapped around and smacked us a few times a day. There are great deals to be had in September and you may get lucky and hit great weather...

We dove it in March. The wind was steady so it was a bit rough, but it was good. We have been there in June and snorkeled. It rained more, but less wind. I think it would be good with a 3mmm - 5mm suit all winter long. The cenotes are the best diving in the area and they would be good anytime.
