    eagle rays

u Hey Gopbroek, unless the Eagle Rays start disguising themselves as Lionfish and hiding in crevices and under ledges I doubt you ever see many.

    Gabi Loco

That is great! The closest Plaza del Sol entrance to get to Gaby's shop is the one opposite Woody's Bar and Grill. His shop is not easy to find if you don't have an idea of where he is located. He has some nice handmade crafts that he makes so please support him if you can as low season has been...

    Best Fish book

How is this better than Humann and Deloach, if overload is the issue? The op asked for the best guide for identifying marine species while diving in Roatan and mentioned nothing about any "overload issue" or not wanting the best comprehensive guide for the reef. Here is the best guide for...

Cozumel and other Caribbean destinations re lionfish

Lionfish have a negative impact on the reef but I would suspect overfishing, lack of reef protected zones and enforcement of such, and human originated pollution have a bigger impact on reef health and marine life population in most locations.

    Diving Question Beginner C-Card

this is very good advice for a new diver IMO.There are good dive ops in Coz but overall Roatan has far superior instruction and DM's for new divers.

    Open Water Certification Dives

Looking for recommendations for a great instructor in Cozumel to complete the diving portion for open water certification for my friend. Anyone have any great experiences with an instructor?

    Dive House - Scuba Du

i have only 4 dives wit Scuba Du and can only share those experiences. The two deeper dives were 35 min and the shallow two were 45 min. Big, slow, and crowded boats are not my thing either. Darol, I am happy for you that you found a shop that you are comfortable with and meets your dive...

    Dive House - Scuba Du

My first trip to cozumel I didn't do much research and happened to stay at a place where it was convenient to dive with Scuba Du. Two days was enough of Scuba Du for me! I am not a fan of big slow boats, big crowds or timed dives(or when the first diver was low on air) where I was coming up with...

    Rain?

No resort boats. I would rather go snorkelling than diving on a resort boat based on past experience. There are options that don't include regular cruisers or being herded like cattle. If there wasn't I would not dive Cozumel. ---------- Post added December 16th, 2013 at 10:30 PM ----------...

    Rain?

No offence to cruisers but I just can't see myself diving with a dive op that has cruisers on a regular basis. Not that I equate cruisers with bad diving skills (but they generally do have a good appetite) but I do equate cruisers with first dive of their trip divers and all the issues and...

    Dive Op - Solo

I get your point DD but cut the guy a little slack. As you know,it is extremely common for DM's to shoot their sausage for the early risers so they can be quickly picked up by the boat regardless of whether they are solo or buddies. Vey few divers Have had a sausage on any dives I have been on...
