Wow. Let me guess, they're playing loud classic rock now too. Too bad. Had many really good and fun suppers there.

    Local News

It's been a long time and things may have changed, but Tikila and Ernesto's weren't playing 'murican music the last times I was there. Been to Tikila many times with friends during sunset, Ernesto's too for that matter. The only problem with both of those places is that they have a "south"...

Picking a new op with pier pickup at Blue Angel

Imo and fwiw, if BA is leaving at 9am, that's a selling point to me. Where I stay I watch many rushed, tensed up divers coming to breakfast on a mission to eat and get on the pier for their 8am departures. I'm up very early, and have pah-lenty of time to drink some coffee, eat some breakfast...

Picking a new op with pier pickup at Blue Angel

Would Blue Angel dive shop work for you? That would be very convenient. Did you mean Pedro Pablo works at Deeper Blue, or Deep Blue? My understanding is that Deep Blue will pick up at Blue Angel. Many shops will take care of your equipment if you ask. I've never done it, but if I wanted my...

    Question Favorite resorts in Cozumel.

I didn't see this mentioned but I may have missed it. Another advantage to El Presidente is that you can choose any dive op and they'll pick you up from your pier. If you're diving with the house op at El Presidente or the Coz Palace, of course you'll board at the hotel pier, but El Presidente...

    Question Snorkeling Recommendations for Coz?

It would be a boat trip, but if you're going to El Cielo, you should go to Colombia Shallows. 28 feet deep. LOTS of structure, etc. If I was ever on a trip with snorkelers, I'd insist on Colombia Shallows.

    Where to stay in Cozumel

I haven't priced the Park Royal and it isn't really my cup of tea, but it sounds like a pretty good choice. If not there, it sounds like a resort somewhere further south would work too, if you're thinking AI is the way to go. Further south will have better, less congested swimming, not...

    Where to stay in Cozumel

You could stay at Villa Aldora, north of the square, you could stay downtown and walk to the pier they leave from downtown, or you could stay just about anywhere south of town and they can probably pick you up from the hotel's dock. Some hotels will charge your for using their dock to get on a...

Cozumel dive center recommendations for base OW PADI certification?

That's a pretty quick time frame. I'd agree with others about doing what you can from home. If you can get some of it done at home, it might make for a better experience when you're there. Though you are remote, if you have internet access you can do the "classroom" work from home with PADI...

AOW, Stay and General Advice for Cozumel/Cancun?

Ditto on going to Cozumel immediately. It sounds like you want to do some diving. MUSA was kinda "meh" in the opinion of a friend who is a bronze artist. The cenotes (which we did prior to the museum on the same day) were the bomb in his opinion. Maybe combine cenotes and the museum later in...

    Question Cozumel Adventures Dive Operator

Crazy. Coz. Adv. was definitely on your original post in this thread. I went straight to the Best Op. thread, looked at the sheet, and it was on there too. I didn't come back to post on this thread for awhile and only did because I figured someone would have already pointed out that they were on...

    Question Cozumel Adventures Dive Operator

Did you edit this post? When I first saw this post, it appeared as though part of the spreadsheet was on your post. It's not there now. In any event, on your original post on this thread, Cozumel Adventures was on the sheet, or partial sheet. When I look at the actual spreadsheet on the Best...

    Lautoka, Fiji Diving

With the shortish time in port, checking to see if the cruise ship offers a scuba diving excursion might be a good idea. If they do, it'd be convenient and also cover the tight turn-around.

    Question Condo in Cozumel

That text is also part of the fulviocozumelrentals listing for Orchid. The listing for Alegria doesn't mention the location. The location on Paz and Amor listings say something to the effect of, " ...on Avenida 55...located 11 blocks from the water and 14 blocks from the square...".

Trip Report Dive Sint Maarten - St. Maarten

    Cozumel (and Cenote) Vacation Video

I had a hard time watching too, due to the jittery nature of the clips. Fwiw, this doesn't feel like completely user introduced jitter in the shooting. It looks more like a playback/technical sync issue, or something like that, or maybe some kind of stabilization setting issue, or possibly a...

    OW training for children?

My personal cheerlead would be Sandro Quijada at Deep Blue. It might be difficult for people to make specific recommendations as there are many, many dive shops on the island that have thorough, patient, competent professional instructors that would be suitable for instructing someone of any...

El Cid La Cieba vs staying in San Miguel

I would second this recommendation. It would be very convenient for you, plus you'd have easy access to shore diving. From El Cid, it's a quick (<10min?) ride to downtown and will cost about $6 US each way. It will be very quick/convenient to get a taxi at El Cid too.
