XDeep Zen vs Scubapro Hydros Pro if same price

Just my personal experience with the XDeep Zen. Previous BCD Zeagle Stiletto and Zeagle Express Tech Deluxe. All diving recreational, tropical water - invariably distracted with a camera. I added XDeep weight pockets, and a larger grab disc to the dump valve. Experience: ~30 dives on XDeep...

Mallet Finger brace for while diving

@rsingler & @kelemvro - Thank you for the rapid replies. I already have a CVS padded aluminum finger splint. In addition to slight extension at the tip (not the desired slight hyperflexion) the issue with the aluminum versions is they are BULKY. Also, I agree that the foam will probably not...

Mallet Finger brace for while diving

I managed to pop the DIP extensor tendon on my non dominant (left) hand 5th digit ("pinky") 2 weeks ago giving myself a "Mallet finger" deformity. Saw a hand specialist and am in a custom brace to try to keep the fingertip hyperextended to allow the tendon to hopefully spontaneously reattach...

Can Buddy Dive cater to Gluten Free needs? YES!!!!

Seems like a goofy subject heading but as a celiac (diagnosed in 1972) I know it can be difficult (but getting better) to get answers to specific questions like: Can Buddy Dive feed a Gluten Free needing person? Yes they can! I just left a 2 week workshop on post-processing underwater images...

    Airport suitcase theft

#1 - Don't be an idiot. Don't put anything of easy "grab-ability" with easy resale (eg: dive computer) in a checked bag no matter where you go. #2 - Put a couple carabiners, dive clips, even clothespins on your stuff. Expect everything to be gone through for security purposes, but link...

Hollis LTS vs Cressi Travelight vs other travel BCs

I bought the version with the Zip-Touch system and they work with the same Zeagle Mesh weight-bags that I used with my previous BCD. My previous BCD was a Zeagle Stiletto which has both the Zip and Ripcord systems. I prefer the Zip - it's easier for me to use and I like that it screws into the...

Hollis LTS vs Cressi Travelight vs other travel BCs

I'd suggest adding the Zeagle Express-Tech to that list to consider. Even with the "Deluxe" back and shoulder padding, the speed of drying combined with the overall weight and lack of bulk of this fiber pseudo-BP/W have made it my preferred travel BCD.

    Wetsuit advice for Bonaire

When I started diving I was a t-shirt and board shorts diver - 35+ years later I'm freezing in tropical waters in 3mm & sometimes 5mm. About 4 years ago I added a hood - WHAT a difference! I may look like a weirdo in a 5mm skirted hood with a 3mm full suit in the tropics, but I'm a happy warm...

    Shearwater Teric or Perdix?

Are you guys serious about this conversation regarding the pins being sufficient? You do realize that watches in the 5+$ figure range are delicately balanced on pins far smaller and less sturdy? I understand these expensive watches are subject to far less caustic conditions (saltwater, pressure...

    Shearwater Teric or Perdix?

I just got a Teric. Me: Complete OC REC only - way too distracted with my camera to want to task load with more technical diving. My previous 2 AI dive computers [UEMIS SDA & Liquivision Lynx] have been more "box" computer style due to wanting large display (eye/vision issues). When I read that...
