    D6i pairing question

Tom, I ended up giving it another shot and was successful in pairing. All I did was change codes until I got it to work. At first I was getting codes from 26 and up. But it worked once it got to code 10. It seems to be working fine now, but is this something I should be concerned about?

    D6i pairing question

Also, it's worth noting that the lightning bolt symbol has never come up. But now that I know the pressure should come up right away, I think I'm going to start by trying a new transmitter. Thanks again.

    D6i pairing question

I did those exact steps. It'll read the code so it changes the CD:-- to actually have a code. Then it goes to 0000, after a few seconds it'll say "no conn" and switch back and forth between that and 0000. According to the manual that means it's synced but the transmitter just hasn't updated the...

    D6i pairing question

Just got a D6i with transmitter. I paired it for the first time today and it does display a code, but it goes straight to "no conn" and says "0000" as the tank pressure. I took a few breaths off the regulator, even purged it for a few seconds. And I tried re-pairing it, and even tried with...

"The Wetter The Better" save lionfish from death

Dynamite. But they like to hide in small reef holes so bring a hatchet.

Turtles washing up on the shore.

Good news is that it is the end of the season so most hatchlings have gotten through. Down here I've seen numerous egg shells in the sand in some of our sites. Even ones in 80 feet of water.

    Does this tank look bad?

I understand, I'm just overly cautious I guess. BTW A visual inspection can definitely condemn a tank if there is pitting or deep scratches on the inside, or if there are issues with the threads such as stripping or fracturing among other things.

    Does this tank look bad?

Pass or fail: considering the original hydro year of that tank is 1970. I wouldn't buy it.

    PBS Show on 10/18

Professional filmmakers do this all the time. I used to do it when I worked. Although I tried to be as careful as possible. Like grab a barrel sponge or less sensitive things whenever possible. It needs to be done in order to hold the camera steady. If you think that's bad consider the guys who...

Initial Impressions of the Canon G9

Gibson, I believe the 27dx strobe will work just fine. In fact that was one I was looking at in case this one my friend wants to sell me doesn't work out. A strobe is definitely necessary. The built in flash only works for a certain distance. If you get too close it'll only light up the top...

Initial Impressions of the Canon G9

Yeah you need to push two buttons at a time to change aperture and shutter. Basically the housing has every button available except for the wheel that you would normally use for the menu and stuff. It really isn't a big deal, it just requires both hands to operate. I think the housing is...

Initial Impressions of the Canon G9

I just have to say that I'm absolutely loving this camera. I have the canon housing and it's great too. The shutter speed and aperture control takes some getting used to. Also the manual focus is tough to use I think. Once I get a strobe in the mix I think this camera will be unbelievable...

    West Palm Beach charter

Not a problem. We do the single tank trips because many of our regulars are locals playing hooky from work or school. There are many out there who like to just take a couple hours from their day to do a dive. Also people have said that they prefer not to do the two tank dives because it is too...

    lead toxicity...

That's a good question I'd definitely like to know more on this too. I've always wondered because I noticed that the shot weights leave more "residue" inside my pockets. All I know is that I wouldn't drink water with lead in it; so I always pick up weights I find on the bottom. I've picked up...

    West Palm Beach charter

I work at the scuba club. So just to clarify some things: We have two tank trips wednesday and sunday mornings and friday afternoons. The majority of the sites are actually 80-90 feet. On our two tank trips we typically go for an 80 ft dive followed by a surface interval (which is usually just...

    Tipping....how much do you tip?

Unbelievable. If you feel so deeply about people getting paid a fair wage than why don't you tip those who aren't in order to supplement their income. As a DM let me tell you I don't get paid nearly enough to babysit you and set up your gear for you etc. Nor do I get paid enough to provide the...

    Pervasive Fallacy about Split Fins

Thank you. How come nobody else ever sees this? It's so obvious. Sorry to say but I noticed that the only time a split fin works better than a "paddle fin" is when they are on someone who bicycle kicks.

    Hobbies

I used to play speedball too. But my team disbanded and most everyone around here that play are stoners and uninspired to compete. I dive for work so I get paid to do that. But that money goes into my car for racing. Mostly autocross with the occasional road course.
