We were supposed to dive the wreck back in August but due to last minute work schedule changes it got pushed off once again. We are making plans for a day trip next year though
I've probably got alittle over 50 dives on the 853 over the past 10 years, everytime I dive it I find something new but that comes from extensive research on Uboats of that era and class.
With this years dive season coming to a close and COVID having wrecked havoc on my own season due to work...
My family and I are planning a cruise to alaska in two years and I am starting to do some research about doing some diving while we are in port. Any tips?
Our team is fire service based and has strict requirements. Potential divers have to be recommended by their chief, then interviewed by the teams leadership and finally pass the IADRIS watermanship test before they are even allowed to take basic SCUBA. Thing progress from there following a...
I will be in Jacksonville next month for a day before i catch my cruise ship out of Jacksonville. Any good shore or local dives in the area? i am not opposed to a charter either. Any tips, advice or recommendations?
So far so good with the new truck, it has been on a few runs already. We saved the town a fairly decent amount of money by purchasing a used truck. The ability to fill our own bottles and the light tower have enabled us to pretty much operate without tying up addition fire resources.
In Grand Cayman we have used Epic Divers. Freddie and Jax did an awesome job. We actually chartered the whole boat for our group. The price wasn't bad and it included a Jax as a dive master for my wife who hadn't been in the water since diagnosed with breast cancer. We will be using them again...
While we have had a few "experts" that only needed to dive on emergency calls or to meet the minimum number of required training dives annually to remain active, the bulk of them continue to dive on a regular basis. The fire company pays for addition training and actually helps with gear by...
The is what we ended up with. After much research into the use of a trailer it was decided on a truck. The members built and installed a cascade system to fill our bottles. All of the equipment for the cascade was donated by area departments. The truck carries all our dive gear, surface Ice...
This is what we started with. It was overweight when we added equipment and as we grew it became obsolete. WE have recently replaced it with a bigger rescue truck that we bought new from a neighboring town. I will try and add a pic
Back in April of Last year we used Epic Divers. I would highly recommend them. Freddy and Jax went out of their way to make our day enjoyable. You can find them on the web or facebook. Contact them to see what they can offer. We will be using them again this year
