Update... this year's strap is still holding... tho it's due to break in the next month or so. The issue seems to be a case of the wrong elastomer being used. It's not very resistant to natural skin oils. None of my failures are due to mechanical stress... as there are often lots of cracks...

I had my LED Mini 3 flood on me. It worked fine on a night dive, turned it off, all ok... Then the next day, after a couple of dives (30m) with it clipped onto my harness, i went to do another night dive, and i could hardly un-screw the end cap as it was flooded. It was a right mess in there...

So was it only the battery compartment that flooded this time? Your first failure was a flood in the main compartment like my one(s)?

The report on my first YS-01 failure says it leaked power switch on the back... I've yet to send the second one in, but the symptoms were the same.

Is this in any way linked to my two YS-01 strobes that have failed? Moisture in the main compartment, recharging when turned off, draining batteries over night, one going 'click' and then failing outright...??? They were bought at different times, so have fairly different S/Ns.

Has anyone else had any failures of their Sea & Sea YS-01 strobes? I've now just had my second one die. And it died in the exact same way as the first. First symptoms are that it keeps re-charging the capacitors when the switch is in the Off position. You hear the whine every now and again...

That's only 49m And that's just 41m I've managed to take it down to 56m (184ft), to the Stubborn, and it's was all good. But i was wondering about taking it deeper than its rated 60m (197ft)

Great customer service is nice. BUT lets not get distracted from the point of this thread, and the feedback from other D Series owners, that the material they use for straps is way sub-standard, not even lasting 12 months. This problem doesn't disappear with good CS, it has to be addressed...

Set the shortcut button to custom white balance, then when you jump in, just point the camera at the slate (or the palm of your hand, or better, a grey slate) and press this shortcut button once. Done. If it's on AWB, it gets changed to custom wb when you press it. This is the killer feature...
