My problem with this is that everyone is focusing on the free gas (bubbles) and ignoring the disolved gas phase. I think what GI is saying may make sense for the dives he's doing. I'm afraid that when you take it out of that context and I apply it to recreational dives it doesn't apply anymore.

Have you tried running this through some deco software? I ran some back to back 100' dives through v-planner it wasn't very happy.

Do you flood you hood at the begining of the dive? Letting water in will help equalize. Maybe, there is phenomenon called alternobaric vertigo. Basically you have more pressure on one ear than the other (but not enough to cause pain) which causes vertigo. It happens to me sometimes on ascent.
