UWATEC Digital Bottom Timer 330m For Sale

A while back I was planning on getting into tec and so I purchased this bottom timer. Long story short I'm not going to be doing any diving for the foreseeable future let alone tec and so I'm selling it. It is brand new - never been in the water and even has the protective film still in place...

    Under the wetsuit???

I actually wear track shorts; enough material to preserve your modesty but light enough the bunching really isn't much of an issue.

BCD- Jacket/vest style vs back inflation

Personally, I prefer back-inflate, but the only way to really know what's right for you is to try out different styles. If you aren't ready to pull the trigger just yet try renting, otherwise find a shop that will let you pool test the gear. Soliciting others' opinions is great, up until a...

    Spinner Knife Issue

It was on the back of the finger so it missed the fun stuff, but it was right across the knuckle so the darn thing is going to take forever to heal up. Anyway, I guess that I'll have to play around with it and see if I can't come up with a more secure hold. Thanks for the reply.

    Spinner Knife Issue

I was wondering if anyone with a Spinner knife has had any issues with the sheath not securing the knife. I recently had mine snag and pull out of the sheath - cutting a finger to the bone in the process. I'm just curious to see if its a design issue or if I have a bad sheath. Thanks.

To pee or not to pee; the survey

Whether or not you pee right before you dive, the increase of pressure from submerging triggers a natural reaction in your body whereby you feel the need to go again. If you don't at least feel THAT then you are dehydrated. Whether or not you give into this urge (and I do) is a different matter...

Competitive Diving - Save the Dive Industry

While I agree that increased visibility will play an important role in revitalizing the dive industry I hesitate to agree that a show that will encourage cutting corners and taking unnecessary risks (just like the original) is the best vehicle to do so. Having safety divers in the water might...

In Response to "a Unified Dive Industry"

One thing that kind of derails your argument is that this same phenomenon of being able to purchase goods less expensively online versus brick-and-mortar stores is not contained exclusively within the dive community. The reality is that just about anything that you might care to by in this...

Can you learn scuba from tv?

Use the videos to stoke your budding love of enthusiasm for diving. I wouldn't recommend trying to save time/money by using them as your sole source of diving instruction; it would only be cheaper/faster until you run into anything other than perfect conditions.

Swim test with or without gear?

You know I have pretty much the same problem. I float, not at all, but I still made it through the swim test unaided. There are no stroke requirements so you can do anything short of standing up and walking. I did a combination of modified back stroke, free style and the UMSC survival stroke...

Glove promo is over/post reviews here

Fair enough. By the way though, I wasn't attempting to single you out in any way shape or form. I apologize if that's the way that I came across.

Glove promo is over/post reviews here

Sorry guys, that wasn't the point that I was attempting to make. What I was going for was that we as a community should try these out and provide constructive feedback to Roy so that he can fine tune them as much as possible. You don't ever have to wear them again once you've provided your input...

Glove promo is over/post reviews here

I appreciate your concern, but I was really only addressing one specific diver in that post. I realize that most divers aren't DIR and that there are plenty of other objections but I was curious if that might have been the case here. One thing that I was wondering though. Did you think that I...

Glove promo is over/post reviews here

Ah, but da Vinci was also the first to think of what eventually became known as the helicopter Leonardo da Vinci helicopter - development history, photos, technical data. The man was was a visionary and a genius, and some of his ideas were hundreds of years ahead of the technological means that...

Glove promo is over/post reviews here

Randy, I would like to make one observation, if I may. On your profile you state that you subscribe to DIR methodology. Mightn't that be the reason that you are hesitant to try this product? After all DIR is all about keeping things simple and removing potential failure points (and I am...

    AOW to DM questions

While I understand where you are coming from if you look at his profile you will notice that this is his inaugural post and that he has fewer than 25 logged dives. Therefore, this is the right place for him to be even if he is asking a more advanced level question. Not all new diver questions...

    BC vs. BCD

You know, I just got a new octopus, but I can't figure out how to work it properly. . . I can't figure out which of the eight arms to breathe off of and the darned thing is always trying to wrap itself around my head! ;)

    Confused about Narcosis...

Nitrogen narcosis affects all divers regardless of their experience level. Some individuals are more prone to it than others, but that is based off of physiological differences not experience-based differences. I happen to be in the less susceptible category, when I was doing one of my deep cert...

    Master Diver Cert

No not a troll just a "contrarian" as I'm pretty sure that's how you've started the vast majority of your posts. . . ;) Congrats on the MSD it takes a lot of gumption to make it that far, most don't even try. Keep diving, keep learning, and you may surprise yourself. I say go for the DM; it...

    BC vs. BCD

And following that you wind up with an unpronounceable symbol as the name, but that actually lengthens things out to "the device formerly known as BC."
