What would you do for a sheepshead?

Things are different here. Those may all be valid points in FL but things seem to work a little differently here in NC from what I can tell. I'm not done much spearfishing but I was along observing some spearfishing last weekend. 1. It's a lot harder to take fish up to a bucket when your on...

    bad day on charter

I think your onto something. He didn't need a pony, he needed more gas. Could have been a pony, could have been doubles, could have been more air in his single. I like and use a pony but it's a smaller one based on my gas consumption. This other guy would have probably sucked it dry...

    Your big fat pony Bottle

Everybody seems to have thier own defenition but I'd change your's just a little... -Bailout = gas to come off a rebreather if there's a problem ...or maybe a breathable gas where you'd have to come off something like trimix (not trained for any of that yet) -Pony = backup ..seperate...

No one told me about the resort fee

I totally agree about it being dishonest and just a sleazy business practice. The websites are probably in a tough spot. I don't blame Hotwire or Priceline even though they should try to do something about like not allowing them to offer rooms anymore if they get reports of shady deals...

LP vs HP tanks on doubles...

Yea, it's that whole "I've never had a problem" attitude that I don't get. If you want more why don't you just take that 130 and overfill it to 5163psi? ...lots of gas if it holds together. (2400 overfilled to 3600=1.5 3442 overfilled by 1.5=5163) You'll get away with it a certain number of...

LP vs HP tanks on doubles...

Not trying to pick on you Superlyte but this logic has never made sense to me. 1. If you continuously overfill any tank and use up the safety margin you run a real risk of problems. 2. Why not just get the same tank with a different steel that is rated to hold the pressure? Safer way...

    Underwater Camera's withHD video ??

I've been looking for the same thing. Too bad the S90 doesn't have HD video. The panasonic is really interesting but that housing is pretty expensive. I'd like to find a cannon SD series that has HD, is wide angle, and has a cheap canon housing availible. .

Scuba Goop & Trident U Mark It Paint Gear Paint are same item

Thanks for the honest good review. It does seem a little strange the post got removed, probably a bad choice on the part of some site moderator. I still think being ripped off is too harsh. It's retail so double what they paid for it is common and for all we know he might have paid...

Scuba Goop & Trident U Mark It Paint Gear Paint are same item

I'm not usually one to defend marked up prices but give the guy a break. None of us know what the distributor is charging them for the bottle. ..you know the distributor is making money off putting the label on before scuba.com even gets anywhere near it. Then scuba.com deserves to make a...

    Buying a New Regulator

That's what I'm thinking. Let's see. Apex and Scubapro have a good reputation with tech divers and have supported their regs for a long time. They just make it difficult and expensive. The new guy on the block's got everything else going for him, performance, price, design, parts, etc...

    Buying a New Regulator

Again good points. The free parts deal is nice considering the (over)price of rebuild kits for the major brands if you can find them but not worth $300. While there may technically have to be a warranty a company can make it more difficult to get it honored. ...like making you send it...

    Buying a New Regulator

Yea, I guess I should have said HOG new or Apex used. Yea, also on the list. No warranty so kind of like getting them used. HOG = New, Service Kits online, great deal, hopefully around a long time. Apex = Used, Great reputation, Service kits harder to get but availible, better resale...

    Buying a New Regulator

Just wanted to comment, I'm pretty lucky that many of my LDS's service regs on site. I've taken my Titan LX back to the shop where I bought it closest to my house because I was concerned about the fit of a new hose and they took me back to the workbench wile they checked it out. (they've done...

Does anyone know where the HOG regulators would fit into the chart?

    Lost Buddy Marker

Interesting topic. First let me say I have no cave training and it will be a while before I get around to it, I'm just trying to learn a few things as I go. From reading all these pages here's what makes sense to me.. When you realize your buddy is lost, 1. Put a turned on backup light on...

Source for lead weights - 2.5lbs

They do make 8oz weights for fishing. You could keep the 2 lb. weights and add a couple of fishing weights. ... you must be way more fine tuned than most people. I've still got a long way to go.
