You will have a great time diving at capt dons for a week even without a truck and doing the shore dives. Just make sure you book some boat dives

One advantage of a boat dive is being able to buddy up with the guide. I have heard good things about Oceanencounters and if staying at Lions Dive or Sunscapes they would be a good choice. Keep trying to contact them as they should be able to help you out with a guide or guided shore dives...

We tip at the end for dive shop and housekeeping and per meal drinks at restaurant and bar

I would rent the regs from lions dive while there and from gowest while at allwest. Gear should be fine and if not they can take care of any issue quickly.
