try it stock with the 9/16 band and see how it feels.if the gun comes stock with one band,it will shoot better with just the one band.keep a sharp tip.I would try a 5/8 band,its not that much bigger.but Im not telling you to try it.
a snorkel is nice if your out in the water awhile,say 2 1/2 hours free-diving,spearfishing,etc.you can rest your head,relax and enjoy.without one,your going to be tired.
this one is real hard to say,could have taken off gear to get out of something he was stuck in,or his gage was stuck behind him and he couldnt see so he took off bc.
For me I went from scuba diving to free diving,it seems natural,after diving I was always hanging out shooting fish in the kelp beds FINALLY i GOT RID OF those M T TANKS.ha whatever you do dont overtire yourself.

hi,I would go anywhere into the kelp beds,get a 3 band gun with a break away tip and shoot fish.shoot anything just to get pcs of fish in the water.that will draw other fish in .shoot some kelp bass,the ones with the orange dusted chinn.enjoy:
NOTHING BEATS FREEDIVING IN A KELP BED,when I'm finished my dive I like to free dive in the kelp beds on the way in.Its quiet and once in awhile a yellow-tail will be feeding on the outside edges.hang out and be real quiet,you'd be surprise what you can shoot.what a nice way to end a dive...
