    Fatality in the Bahamas

Very sad news. Here is the article from the Palm Beach Post. Jupiter man, 21, dies while diving in Bahamas | www.palmbeachpost.com

Shark Feeding dive in Jupiter Florida

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... Yeah. The regulations do nothing to prevent shark attacks if they are not enforced and are ignored by the perpetrators. You are putting me and my diving friends in danger. I want sharks to be wary of humans; not to expect a free dinner. STOP! On the news tonight there...

Tiger Shark - Jupiter, FL 01/25/2014

I hope you get your hand bit off! Both of them would be better. We need a poster boy for irresponsibility. Then you might stop. Sharks are harassing us all the time because of you idiots. Btw this is not a "feeding sharks argument." this is putting other divers (me and my friends) in danger...

    Double 130's for sale

What is shipping to zip code 34990? How old are they? In hydro or out? 200 or 300 bar DIN valves? What neck size is the valve threaded with (see exerpt from dive gear express, below)? Thanks, Odo. So how do you figure out what you have? Assuming your cylinder was manufactured in the last 45...

Spearing Your Fishing Partner is A Real Threat

I have been diving solo for many years in Southeast Florida (Jupiter), typically in 90-115'. The current can be very swift, so diving with a partner means one guy is just holding on waiting for the other guy to get a lobster or take a fish off the spear, which isn't very efficient or fun...

    Advice: Riffe M-1025 Metal Tech #3S 50 (127 cm)

I have had a metal tech 2 for 10-12 years. I love it. It is a poweful gun. A couple of my friends have the metal tech 3. I like the mid handle for better control (over the euro). You can put the gun down and it won't float away. It is small enough that I can hold it and the handle of my...

    Problems with HOG regs

I bought a couple Hogs last year and did experience some wet breathing in high current conditions. Not mouthfulls of water; not all the time, just enough to be annoying every once in a while. Before I got the Hogs, I used Apeks ATX-200 and TX-100 regs, and don't remember ever getting a drop of...

    Moray Claims a Gopro Lens

Morays are really shy creatures. You should be able to just stick your hand into that hole and get it back ;). My first hand experience is they only tend to bite off the very tip of your finger... Signed Lefty...

Proper hose management when using pony bottles.

Really? I don't see how being responsible and conscientious enough to add a totally redundant air source and streamlining your equipment can be construed to be a poor or dangerous practice. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being self sufficient and able to handle an emergency. Yarik...

Apollo AV-1 or Tusa SAV-7 DPV scooter wanted

Sorry... I meant Apollo AV-2 not AV-1; the 24V version, not the 12V version.

Apollo AV-1 or Tusa SAV-7 DPV scooter wanted

I'm looking for a good used Apollo AV-1 or Tusa SAV-7 DPV. What have you got? Come on, it's 7 degrees where you live and that scooter is just collecting dust 99.9% of the time. The rent is due, the car broke down, the kids need braces....

    New diver heading to florida

Diving Jupiter this time of year is not a problem. In the summer the current is usually super strong and requires experience. There are some nice dives in 60-70 feet. There are nice shallower dive spots out of West Palm.

Flooded first and second stage pony reg

Thanks for your responses. I will look into the sling method, however, I really don't like stuff hanging off of me. I dive in high currents a lot, spearing and hunting lobster, and don't know how well the sling would work. How do you keep it from getting in the way? What is the purpose of...

Flooded first and second stage pony reg

I had always turned my pony valve on so it was always pressurized. I did this because it would have been hard to turn on with the valve behind my back. I recently got a new pony mount that has the tank upside down and the valve at my side; easy to turn on, right at my hip. I also got a new...

    Lifetime warranty = no warranty?

I broke my new Hog reg due to my own stupidity after onlly 4 dives. I requested info from manufacturer as to where I could purchase replacement parts. My reply was send it back to us and we will repair or replace free of charge. Now THAT is customer seervice. Unless you keep pestering...

Proper hose management when using pony bottles.

I used to dive with my pony tank on right side, valve up and turned on. It was a pain to reach behind my head with all the other stuff back there and ensure I was grabbing the right thing, so I just left it turned on. I recently changed to: right side, upside down, turned off. The valve is...

    Has anyone used SCUBA-FIX?

aldijo2, What brand of BC is it? I had a similar problem with a Seaquest. The hole for the seaquest is bigger than most of the fill valves on the market. If I remember the hole is 2-1/4" and the replacement flange is 1-3/4". It looks like making the hole smaller as couv recommends is a good way...

    Tank Holders

I have used the roll control system for years and they work great. I have also used the suction cup version. You need a very smooth, dry surface to attach. They do let loose at times, regardless of the surface it is attached to. I just put the roll control tracks on my new boat. I have extra...
