    bleomycin and diving?

Had the PFT yesterday at Dana-Farber in Boston and everything was completely normal. In fact, all the data from the test indicated I was over 100% of the pre-test predictions. Also, all my lung functions went up by double digit percentages from my last PFT almost a year ago. MD will review...

    bleomycin and diving?

I had four cycles of chemo from 10/09 to 3/10 with bleomycin each time. Subsequent to that I had surgery to remove the tumors. At the time my oncologist said the prevailing wisdom was having bleo = no diving. However, I have had follow-ups with her(cancer free so far) and she has changed her...

    David Swain Guilty of MURDER

I'm not saying he's guilty as the day is long, I'm just pointing out that there have been many criminal cases(some that I have been personally involved in) that have had no or very little scientific, CSI-like evidence. That's why these other types of evidence, i.e. circumstantial, exist in the...

    David Swain Guilty of MURDER

I've worked in law enforcement for many years(as cop and attorney) and you'd be surprised what people are capable of doing toward a select individual. They may harbor no ill will toward anyone else, but this one person whom they perceive is in their way(for lack of a better phrase). Mr. Swain...

    Stupid lobster license question

This is exactly what I did and I display this 4 digit number of my choosing on my tank and flag. Never had an issue. It's not the customer ID #. LobstaMan

    NELD 2009 Lovells Island Trip - July 18 & 19

I know it's early, but what's the head count so far? We had a great group last year, but we had plenty of room for more campers/divers. The more the merrier. LobstaMan PS Jack, I owe you Saturday morning breakfast this year. I've learned some Gaelic, as well.

    Looking at new BC's

Forget about independent thinking and personal choice...just drink the BP/W Kool Aid and shut up! ;):D In all seriousness, I now dive w/ a BP/W after going through the natural(IMHO) progression from jacket style, to back-inflate and then to BP/W set-up. Try it you'll like it and if you don't...

Yeah, come on out to Lovell's Island this year, bro. I hear it's a short swim from Pemberton Point and they have a great raw bar and seafood menu on the island. LobstaMan

    NELD 2009 Lovells Island Trip - July 18 & 19

Jack: Did you reserve for Friday nite, too or just Sat. nite? Right now I'm just planning on Sat nite, but I didn't know if Fri nite was also reserved. BTW, bring a wetsuit this time(or a drysuit that doesn't leak)! Jimmie O

    Tank Marking

I have seen this, but I don't believe it is a current regulation. Might have been a reg in the past or some guys started doing it on their own. I don't know. I did a quick search of the relevant regulations and failed to uncover any requirement for letters preceding permit numbers. I know...

    Scalloping questions?

Nobody likes a show-off, Pat. Seriously, I didn't see yours coming out of the water, but from the pic it looks like you did a nice job cleaning it up. Looks very nice. Has Jim cleaned his up yet? If the first dive is on April 4th, I'll have to pass. Spending that weekend in DC w/ the boss...

    Scalloping questions?

That's great, but how long did it take him to bag his limit on portholes? Hah! See you guys on the first charter in April. I can taste the scallops already. LobstaMan

    Scalloping questions?

I don't know of any shore diving areas to get sea scallops. I've never seen them from a shore dive. If you want to give it a try, jump on one of the first charters of the year w/ Jim and Pat of BHDC. I went once last year and we bagged up real nice. Check it out. LobstaMan
