GUE Rec Triox Trip Report: Something may go wrong…

Chris, you are losing it on this one. I was in the class with Tyson. Tyson had no desire to post to this board but I asked him to as I used to lurk around here some time ago. I knew there were a number of nice people on here who would enjoy the report. This is not a conspiracy, hoax, or...

DiveInn does it again--Suunto Mosquito 229.00

The versions sold over here and in the uk have the ability to switch between metric and imperial units, however the dive inn website states that it is available in metric only for the mosquito and stinger. Is this a mistake or what? All the other suunto's sold throughout the world are switchable?

suunto favor -- what's it doing?

I use Suunto computers (stinger and Cobra) and I have no idea what the triple reading is about. I think its time for some warranty (or out of warranty) work to be done on your computer. Battery may be low and the circuits are acting up? who knows? but I would have it serviced before using it...

    New Forum?

While some are opposed there is a small group who are interested and would like to have a forum. Plus fewer people will be offended because they just keep out this one if they are not interested!!!!

    PREGNANCY AND DIVING?

It would be incredibly selfish and pointless for you to continue to dive. Diving is a fun hobby but does not warrant the endangerment of the babies life or possible defects. You are a mother now and with that comes sacrifice, so get used to it. Your life is going to change, and it's a...

    Flonase and diving

To clarify, is Claritin an acceptable choice for diving as well, or is Flonase the better choice. Also can you define what chronic usage would be to me? It seems I have about a five-month prescription for the Flonase. After the first four weeks, I am planning on cutting the dosage in half...

    Flonase and diving

Started taking Flonase (fluticasone propionate) recently. It has been almost a miracle cure for the allergy problems I was suffering. I have been diving actively in recent weeks to depths of up to 130' and things seem to be OK. I would like to know if I should worry about any side effects at...

    Letter to the Editor...............

It seems to me that a few (not the majority) of dive instructers, divemasters, captains, outfitters, and operators (especially in the underdeveloped countries) are not as experienced or interested in their own diving abilities as they should be (50 dives qualifies you to be an instructor?)and...

Neck cracks in 1982 Luxfer Alum. 80's?

I was in a local dive shop and they had 6 1982 Luxfer alum. 80's with neck cracks on them. All of them were rental tanks that have been well maintained by the shop and never over filled. Six in one place must mean there are a lot of others out there. Does anyone know of a recall on the 1982...

    Suunto vs Uwatec Nitrox computers

Would like to hear some arguments on wheather the Uwatec or the Suunto nitrox computers are better. No need to get into wrist or console mount or air integrated or not. I am looking for opinions on the quality, features, deco and non deco models, etc. Thanks and by the way I love the board.

What type of wings should I start with?

I am planning on purchasing a Halcyon harness with SS back plate and wings. I do a lot of lake dives in a heavy wetsuit, rig diving in the Gulf, reef diving, and on occasion penetration wreck diving. I would still classify myself as recreational but am heading technical and want my gear...
