    My AN/DP/Helitrox course

It is ducting tape, but the most common brand is duck tape, and calls it that , JS ;-).

Filling tanks with Cheap-O Air Compressors on eBay?

The questions of why they're a bad idea where answered 4 posts in.... oil contamination, especially on high duty cycle, combined with dodgy materials quality. The long lecture was as unnecessary as the other parts of the discussion

    PADI Beyond Master Scuba Diver

These specialty classes are so subjective on what they are, it's a crap shoot. One person may teach an underwater photography class that's as stringent as any tech class, another.... "look at the pretty fish with a go pro". I'm struggling to think of 20 non technical specialties I would see as...

    AOW Complete

We dove solo for a lot of our deployments. I used to look like a walking cutter( two bfk, shears, and a seat belt cutter). I don't dive black water anymore, and dont require the level of chop and slash I used to cutting bodies out of things, or myself. I occasionally carry a medium sized...

    AOW Complete

I've actually replaced my shears with the seatbelts cutter style trilobite cutters. They're smaller, and work pretty well.

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

Since that's NOT what I'm doing, you clearly did not. I've given reasons, you're ignoring them.

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

Pretty clear by that response you didnt read what I said, and are assigning some preconceived notions of what I say and think without paying attention. Also pretty clear you don't seem to grasp how o-ring and rotary couplers in pressure hoses work, or are being intentionally obtuse ( which is...

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

I'm not familiar with a group tracking accurately reported stats on failures of scuba connectors. The assertion is pretty accurate that it IS another failure point is spot on.... any swivel connection provides a failure point. Doesnt mean I don't have one on the rig I'll be in a cave in to... it...

    Certification card dilemma

My name was legally changed, so I will have to pay the name change fee, but it's good to know I dont have to pay the exorbitant change fee twice. Absolutely crazy that a 30 second clerical edit to a database entry is that pricey.

    Certification card dilemma

Least they're not wanting to bilk y'all for around 250$ total to get your name changed and two replacement cards, one for AOW and one for my public safety diver card. My name has been entered two different times in PADIs system, and i think they're going to double charge(scam me) to get it

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

I actually consider the loose hose flopping around under the arm messy because it's an entanglement hazard, and the use of a 90 when other options exist that dont add the failure point a bad thing with a sport rig.... and I do use ome in sidemount, so I'm not anti-90s

FB posting - standards violations - how many can you pick out?

In see it in professional settings daily, noone wants to be "that guy" and get other people in trouble. It's a huge downfall of professional organizations

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

I have both a singles rig and a sidemount set. I've been in back mount doubles as well. I've been in several combinations of long and short hoses, including a FFM. I'm very familiar with the ins and outs of the systems, and have experience with them as well.... Having a hose tucked under your...

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

Not sure I understand why having a hose that's harder to deploy wrapped under your arm is easier or cleaner that a standard long hose carry, but to each their own. Long as there's no console or inflator smacking the reef

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

Question the righteous indignation because someone made a statement you dont like. The reg set you've indicated is not the "standard" configuration, and as an elbow in when it's not necessary, only to loop a hose under the arm( or over it) and create the same issues as a long AND short hose with...

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

The "standard " configuration ends up a messy disaster of hoses sticking off your gear.long hose is a more comfortable configuration, with better air sharing potential, less entanglement hazards, and sets a dicer up for familiarity going forward into more advanced classes.

FB posting - standards violations - how many can you pick out?

Always interesting to see the 'ol boys club with "professionals" claiming the laity is not allowed to comment on standards and training. You see it all over the place, and it always amuses me.

BCD remove and replacement with long hose configuration?

Switch to the secondary and clip the primary off on the right chest dring. Or for that matter, deploy the long hose and retain the reg, remove your kit as needed. Re-stow the hose afterwards.

*space nerd* In fairness, metric got the first satellite, first living thing, living return, man, woman, multiple men, space walk, station, and an unmanned lunar return. Imperial did manage to money while a manned landing and the metric gave it up to continue beating imperial to a crap ton more...
