I think buddy lines are fine in the right time & place,I would not be to keen to use them in a kelp bed though !! Hi guys, I have just started to read a book involving ccr's, and they are going deeper than 150 meters, and only putting .4 o2 on the ccr, whilst I think I understand the small amount of o2 " due to dpp law " should you not have nitrogen narcoses ?, so if you only have .4 o2 does that mean...

just shows that you are a donkey....or have the brain of an ass, STANDARDS are not a guide !!!! Or shall we use the tables as a guide, so its ok to just go past them as we please, or what about the depth limits....just a guide...its ok to go to 50 meters after they just finished there course...

Maybe it's different here in oz but I done what was in the standards, and if any of the lds what to change it then good on them but I would not work for them... What are they going to change from the standards next, maybe I will start to teach!!, it's a slippery slope to go down, even more so...

Hey pk, so your saying you do a 3-4 hour class on each of the chapters? That's a bit different than "read through it and fill in the blanks" !!! Is there not a standard format that has to be covered or followed? Apart from read this and pass this exam?

Thanks for the info so far, the trouble of asking the instructor is that they would just say that there course is the best..... As for the 12 hour course, that was the total time spent with the dcs instructor, more time was spent with the " open water instructor" and around the dive shop...

suck it up or don't bother to cross over, the cost of the pack goes some way to pay for your cheap cross over :~)

..Final word on the subject..you pay for the instructor ; not the agency, choose the one that you trust and is legit.. IMHO the best thing said on the whole post :)

yes, the book is wrote by Kathy Work R.N, and was reprinted in '93 and '95, the course is a requirement according to the ssi training standards effective date 01/01/08, revised date 01/01/08.
