If you use a simple 1-piece harness as suggested, you can adjust it to fit you perfectly. That kind of harness in the picture is also supposed to fit all sizes but I've tried it and its not as comfortable. Here in Manila I know of a shop where you can get the parts separately, but the price...
Yes, the government is there and working. Our tried and tested disaster/relief agencies, which did not even have a break from the Bohol earthquake relief operations, have geared for action even before the typhoon hit. But it seems manpower and resources are now spread too thin because of the...
Hi Karl, how do you find this, is it close to the barge? What depth?

Hey ghen, welcome to the PPD! Wanna try and see for ourselves on saturday? :eyebrow:
Hi Jimmy, please note that in that thread I was only trying to show how dive costs in Anilao are divided among the group as compared to the fixed price per dive in PG. The diving in Anilao gets really cheap for a group of 4-6.
With regards to accomodations, there are a variety of options in...
PG diving is in the range of Php1000 per dive which is not THAT cheap, but cheaper than Anilao if you are alone because in Anilao you have to pay the entire cost of the boat and DM/guide.
Dive and Trek is in Bauan, a different area, about 45 min to 1 hr by boat to the popular Anilao dive...
Anilao gets cheaper when you dive with a group because you get to split the costs. It becomes expensive for a single diver:

Very lucky indeed.
But this seems easier to explain. Inexperienced and overweighted diver got separated (which can happen quickly in that kind of vis) from her buddies and got completely disoriented (likely got narced also). The tank banging in the distance must be her buddies looking for her...

Coral growth in Apo Reef may not be as good as in other places in the Philippines but the abundance of fish both big and small, is amazing. I observed this in 3 trips to Apo in November 2010, March 2012 and April 2012.

Agree, just an hour of hanging your gear is enough to prevent it from dripping in the car, so no need for a waterproof bag.
When travelling by air, you can use your 24 hr no-fly time to dry your gear. It will also weigh less.
This is the dive op being referred to:
