No but putting it in the original battery casing is a pain. Then room for the safety electronics. In fact 5mm taller and i could make it a solid 1k. The suspense is killing me. I feel like a kid with a decoder ring in the box of cereal, and I can't open it til breakfast the next day!

I have plans for a Li-ion Hollis battery that will put out 2 hours on high and 4 on cruise. Those numbers are conservative though (true estimate of 2hr 20 mins high 4 hr 40 mins low. Right now I have all the pieces....just putting them together is the time consuming problem...=/

The sl3 isn't a bad light, the beam looks great! But i can't comment on the quality or how long it will last down the road. Buy a nice backup light, you won't regret it.
