    Norte Predictions

Pretty rare. We've only seen crossings closed once - the day of a hurricane's arrival and the day after. We've been on some very rough rides when a lot of barf bags have been passed out and put in use.

    MESS AT COZUMEL AIRPORT

You are allowed $500.00 if arriving by air or sea, $300.00 if arriving by land. If auto parts fall under a separate category, I stand corrected.

Question Are You Tired of the Taxi Ripoff?

It really isn't. Precisely why I suggested that everyone should have a full length mirror and use it.

    Restaurant Finds?

+ 1 The legal tender in Mexico is the Mexican Peso. If people insist on using a foreign currency, there is, in my opinion, NOTHING they can complain about with regard to exchange rate or fees.

Question Are You Tired of the Taxi Ripoff?

I KNOW it's a matter of perspective and/or attitude. Our first trip in 2007 was to Akumal. We left the house at 3:00 am PST after a fitful 2 hours of sleep, and landed in CUN to a terminal that was literally overflowing. We formed a line on the tarmac. It took over 2 hours to get through...

Question Are You Tired of the Taxi Ripoff?

We used to stay in Playa, and saw the drivers ignore the locals repeatedly. We'd sit on a bench or the curb until the locals were picked up, then hail a taxi. They drivers were thoroughly ticked off when they found out that we weren't the pigeons they were hoping for. We were once kicked out of...

Question Are You Tired of the Taxi Ripoff?

This is what I've advocated for over 10 years. Pay the driver the correct fare, thank him/her, walk away.

    Passport warnings, several...

I think that there's a very real correlation of poverty to access to health care. Gun prevalence and other socioeconomic factors, (aside from poverty), certainly affect life expectancy, but to the extent that it skews the numbers for a population of nearly 336 million? I'm dubious.

    Passport warnings, several...

Both countries health care systems are completely and utterly broken. I'm more familiar with the US system, and a good way, (in my opinion), is to look at the life expectancy and infant mortality rate for whatever country you want to evaluate.
