Are you planning on carrying three tanks out in a single trip as well? After the dive I'm usually sufficiently tired or sufficiently on gassed that I'd probably prefer several trips with less weight.
I can give a +1 for the Kubi bag; it keeps my hands free so I can fall better.
The real value of AOW is getting a survey of different kinds of diving situations and an introduction to handle them. OW is just the bare minimum skills needed to survive the activity, most OW graduates are not comfortable diving on their own without a DM initially. Depending on the agency and...
I don't have an image with it weighted with the internal lead, but here's the weighting dive with clip weights. It's somewhere around 60°. Battery's all the way forwards, and unfortunately it's an aftermarket that's longer (i.e. more afterwards center of mass) than stock.
I agree that's how it's supposed to work, that's certainly how it is on my other SS :). For whatever reason this one's stuck. I don't think it can be corroded onto the shaft though, because I can wiggle it back and forth; it's somehow captive.
I've got the big LM canister with two E/Os out, and three banana plugs between the top cap and the body of the canister. Between one of the +s and the -ve I get the expected 12V, but the other +ve shows no voltage to -ve. My guess is that there's a wire that's come loose somewhere down there...
For the life of me I can't get this zinc anode off. I'd like to replace it because I can't get the scooter trimmed out, it sits in the water neutral with about four pounds of lead in the nose but at about an 80 degree angle so it's a real pain to drive long distances. Seems like my only...
I was looking at the clutch plate on my silent submergence scooter, and it looks like there's an additional piece of metal behind the clutch plate that my other one doesn't have. Seems like lead based on poking it with a screwdriver. It seems pretty firmly affixed to the clutch plate, and I...
Failures requiring an isolator shutdown are very rare, and the additional time saved by having them halfway closed will be minimal compared to the time needed to make the decision to close the isolator. However, if a shutdown is needed, under stress you may turn them the wrong way and open the...
Does anyone know of a situation caused by a blockage of a dip tube that wouldn't have also affected a second dip tube in the same tank? I get the theory, but has it ever happened?
Delrin I believe, and it's possible it's just bits of Delrin coming out with the threads. It's black, so I don't think it's either of the red/blue loctite.
If your 109 poppet takes the puck seats, you can use a leather punch and a strip of EPDM to make them, as long as you don't want to convert to balanced.
A couple things I've noticed taking apart this old HOG 21W HID that I'm curious about. I see that the cord has a crimp in it by each end under the gland, but I'm not sure what the purpose is. There was also some gel under the gland, so I'm wondering if the crimp is to retain the gel that keeps...
I'd like to start replacing the cords on my can lights myself as sending them back is starting to be a logistical hassle. Where can I source the components like cords, connectors, glands, etc.
Cleaning out my stuff I found some old valves:
1x Voit J valve
2x US Divers J valve
1x US Divers K valve
1 unmarked K valve that has the HP port for an SPG
