You might be able to pick up a used housing for the 7D at a decent price, and I can tell you that you wouldn't go wrong doing so.

I use the DAN insurance on my camera gear... about 5k USD worth. I haven't had to use it (thankfully), but the policy looks pretty fair and I haven't heard of any horror stories about claims being denied.

A lot of my shots are very plain. Either slow pans, or flyovers, or just slowly following a fish butt. I'm looking to improve, and wondering if anybody knows of a good resource for such things.

Price to value ratio, I say Ikelite. I'd change a few things about it, but... yeah.
