It amazes me that while no one would question the dramatic impact a red filter can have on non-illuminated underwater photography, that they don't transfer that knowledge to scuba masks. It
is not true that coral reefs and fish are primarily green or blue below 15'. Try one on any Caribbean reef...
I recommend diving on Small La Laguna!!! It 3 minutes from the front of Atlantis Puerto Galera. Frogfish the size of dinner plates, Cuttlefish, {I can't master the BB code but if you click on the links below they should play}

Thanks for the heads-up but I already anticipated that problem. Whether Allstate auto or Allstate commercial will cover that vehicle. I'll be buying local insurance. Nonetheless, the trip will still pretty cheap.

Stayed there last year and had a fabulous time diving with Divers Down diversdown@diversdown.net
who offered a terrific dive package through Sunshine Suites! I would recommend them still. I stayed in a condo (7 mile Beach Resort) one year and it was just OK...dove with Treasure Island divers...
If you want to try a different island with the dive equipment 20' from the boat and shore dives with a wall and a sunken vessel about 50' away, try CocoView on Roatan.
Just ran across this post DandyDon. Thanks. Yep they called me and we discussed how I did it and what they market would be like. I didn't hear anything more from them til this..
FWIW my moniker is Scubanutil the il is for Illinois :-)
I just dove GCM again after a 10 year hiatus. I noted how differently in looked than before. Much less reef life than what I remembered. Then maybe I was comparing it to Buddy's Reef :)
If you want to dive someplace that appears like I have read the Carribean used to be like....try Dominica...

Both www.polarfilters.com and Backscatter.com have solutions for shooting macro with the GoPro. Both are pretty ingenious. The polarfilters device allows simultaneous macro and red filter while the Backscatter device appears to...
Manta Divers is a good dive shop I would highly recommend them. I have dived the C-55 twice. The first time (2003) it was standing upright and I got a great shot of the bow gun. The second time (2007) the ship was pretty torn up. But we saw a pod of huge barracuda that were at least 5' long...
you'll not b sorry with DiveLog 5.0 choice. It's the best divelog software I've ever owned and syncs beautifully with my iPhone 5 version that allows me to take photos and GPS readings of my dive sites so that when I'm back home (landlocked) I can reminisce.
Use the Oceanic VT 3 training module. button pushes are exactly the same. Display is slightly different for location of NLBG and I think ATR but otherwise the same operation. Enjoy! I like the display better than the Oceanic VT3. Haven't dove it yet (except virtually) but it looks sweet.
You will NOT FORGET your trip to Dominica. I stopped there New Year's Eve as a captive pod person on the last cruise ship of the year. I did two dives and had my appetite whetted. I returned May 8th with my dive group. We stayed at The Fort Young Hotel Experience - Dominica's Premier Hotel...
Yes the sensor can be changed.
I'm not clear what "people ripping on a dive operator" has to do with my post since no one has mentioned a dive operator, but yes a lawsuit did relate to said incident.
Since no certifying agency now REQUIRES quarterly testing [though they may never have actually monitored compliance] you are
totally on your own. We routinely do O2 checks when using Nitrox because of safety concerns...CO poisoning can be equally lethal. My life is worth too much to me to leave...
I just read DandyDon's posting on carbon monoxide risks and protections and wanted to share my relatively inexpensive personal CO solution.
I bought the CO Inspector from www.sensorcon.com for $149. I purchased a DIN to yoke converter for $27, a rubber #3 stopper from Ace Hardware (15/16"...
