I'll post some Belize reef pics and Dive Videos in another post, (how about mating dolphins, with and without red filter) but inland here is a great tour, at Cavesbranch dot com

Going with the Ikelite housing as I already have Ikelite TTL strobes.
I've got the 10-18 Sony, but the port and focus gear costs get expensive fast.
Choices choices .
For a fixed lens, macro and a flat port seems the least expensive?
Joby Gorillapod SLR
This is what I have, and haven't dove it yet, but you'll have to be stationary for a while to "Set up"., meanwhile other divers would be drifting away. Or dive buddy hanging with you for 5 minutes to get that perfect shot. I'm always the last one in the pack anyways...
Admission: I love my SRP filters, fully machined billet 55mm mounts and quality glass lenses and filters from them and Backscatter. Quality gear is what separates photographers from picture takers.
But if you want something cheap to play with especially if you're a noobie first time...
This is an excellent example of what a GoPro can reproduce in the right hands.
Sir, VERY NICE camera work. I've shot with the Macromate and it's an incredibly narrow depth of field, maybe 3.5-5" range max.
A steady hand is key.
Once again, excellent lighting work, quick fast editing...
good job.
both on the video and the carving, that is HARD, been there..............try using a spiral cut wall board drywall saw, basically like a pencil diameter barber pole of a twisted carving poker.
They both have their attributes, SRP and Backscatter.
the SRP clip-on lens/filter system is quite modular. I've used three different lenses on one dive. Red, +4 diopter, and Backscatter Macromate.
You can't do that with the Flip System.
The CY and CY shallow are great glass lens's compared...

Single and Twin SOLA lights.
1080/60, minor tweeks in GoPro Studio.
I like my tight fast quick snippets style of video editing, keeps 15 dives worth of video...
excellent camera skills, it's harder than it looks!
I've got about 12 dives with the Macromate in Fiji recently, 1080 60 FPS in narrow mode is awesome, but the littlest wiggle is magnified by the macromate which only focuses well, ~4.5-5.5" away from lens.
Yes the outer ring of the macromate is a threaded 55mm receiving any filter you want.
I find many filters (SRP, Backscatter, Fantasea) are fairly depth sensitive, for shallow or mid water 30-50; then another filter for deep stuff.
At proper depth, the right red filter spectrum can do...
SRP sells top quality products. Their benefit is the clip on clip off naked SO machined mount. with a 55mm threaded insert. Their SRP tray is second to none for manufacturing aluminum quality and ability to brake down for compact travel.
A backscatter macromate, mounted to a SRP naked clip...
Yes the SOLA lights are a bit pricey, but not really, considering what you get.
Huge Lumen output.
Factory Sealed no chance of leaks or fumbling with batteries.
Most models offer both narrow beam spot or wide angle mode.
Built in triple multi color power LEDs and small chargers.
perfect for...
The SRP tray is only ~1/2-3/4 pounds heavier than the backscatter dual grip (I have both)
the SRP is great that you can tip it over and use as a tripod, the handles also easily unscrew for packing transport.
the SRP also supports extra filter mounts for their bare SO mount clip on filter...
