Today I did the SSI Nitrox course at Mermet Springs. As always, Glen (owner) did a great job getting everything lined out for a weekday training session to accommodate my schedule. I passed with ease and had a good time.
Water conditions were stated to be iffy, after the quarry had turned...

Thank you for the report.
I have been curious about the experiences the mines will offer. Great write up and a very non bias view on things. It sounds like the group you are with makes a tremendous difference in the "fun" you will have, based on the being kicked and bumped.
Some trucks are equipped with 6000psi cascades that are regulated down to 4500psi and you connect with a whip while it's on ur back. You can also connect 2 packs together in which they would equalize the pressure between the 2. For example if you have a firefighter trapped and low on air you...
The pic is a newer style pack than the ones I currently wear, it has a quick fill mounted near the valve.
SCROLL TO PAGE 5
I Have always been told it was the high pressure hose. Most have a 90 degree fitting an a hose up. Some have a low air bell mounted in that area. Honestly I don't know...
Yes that is what I was referring too with the remote first stage. I started with the first stage mounted to the hip also. Have 3 surplus ones in my garage now that they have became obsolete.:D
The square box to the left of the cylinder with SCOTT on it is the first stage
To the OP depending...

In the world of scba the valve is connected to a high pressure hose then to the first stage...

We Just got back from the ENT and here is what we have found out. He wants her to visit a dentist, which it is almost time for her 6 mos anyway, to see if there is an infection in her teeth. The ENT thinks she has TMJ, and maybe just maybe something wrong with...

SORRY ITS LONG
So here is the story. My wife and I signed up for o/w and dry suit. This first weekend went great (classroom and pool). Long days but went well. While we were rapidly approaching the open water check out dives, the Wednesday before our Saturday and Sunday dives, my wife...
