BTW, you can really use 3 lenses at least behind the dome for the 9-18. The 9-18, 60 & 14-42. Probably could use the 12-50 also, I just don't have that lens. And I rarely use the 14-42 as I just like the images from the 9-18 & 60 more.

I've used an epl2 and now an epl7 and I haven't had much luck with custom white balance. Olympus m4/3 cameras are known to not be too good with this. There is an underwater white balance mode on both my epl2 & epl7. I would suspect the epl5 has this also. I'll use it when taking natural light...

Ahhh, ok, couldn't visualize it before. Wow,that is close. I think your idea to remove material from gear is best approach. Worst case there is you can't zoom. That's better than flooding.

Are you supposed to take the eye cup off? I know it was that way with the original em5. Maybe don't push the gear as far down on the lens. I know I have to play with the gear at times to get it right. My experience is with epl2 & epl7, but I've had that issue before when I pushed the gear too...

I can't measure it right now, but I can tell you it's the same as the other PEN housings. I took the Zen 100 port off of my epl2 housing and put it on my epl7 housing. With this port, I can use the 9-18, 60mm or 14-42. I don't have a 12-50 so can't comment about that, but I would guess it fits.
