Bali and Komodo Trip Report - 19 May to 31 May 2019

Hi, staying in Padang Bai this July for 10-days, diving with Absolute Scuba. I'm looking for a relaxed diving schedule to include Tulamben. Has anyone dived with Absolute Divers? Best dive sites? Any advice would be welcomed! Thanks! Fin Bob

    Okinawa Advice

Hi everyone. I am hoping to dive in Okinawa 28 Oct-6 Nov. Any advice? I'm an older guy so need help in/out of boat. Will a 3mm suit be too cold? Names of good dive shops/resorts? Decent western hotels near dive shop? (3+*) Good dive spots? Deeply appreciated, thanks!!

Tells us about your most memorable Thailand dive

Outside of Richelieu Rock, which was raining fish and one of my favorite global dive sites, I found the Simlian Islands disappointing. Can't speak to the rest of Thailand.

    bali diving end of march

Helarno, thank you for your response, advice and calming concerns. I am in the process of planning a 10-day trip this October. Certainly 4- Nights at Tulamben. I would dive the Liberty Wreck at sunrise and at night. I love night dives. I assume they would carry the tank into the sea where I can...

    bali diving end of march

Hi, wanted your opinion as I heard a few negatives concerning dive operations in Bali. First, many are located away from the ocean so getting to dive sites is overland and one needs to navigate slopes etc. Second, carrying the tank and equipment some use women, even children - true? Third...

Challenges at Malapascua, Cabilao, and Dauin

Bill, I'm early 60's so can relate. The diving in Malapascua is excellent, not just for threshers but for macro as well. From memory, the depth for the threshers is around 60' & the current is fine. Getting on & off the banca is okay, with helping hands - usually you walk on a narrow 45 degree...

    Bohol Diving

Bohol is one of my favourite dive areas within the Philippines, I usually dive with "Fun Divers" (Alona beach). The airport and infrastructure are well underway, I was there in March, 2014. Yes, it will soon be like Boracay, noisy, busy, pity! Do keep us informed about Anda! By the way...

    Why use Force Fins?

Due to medical issues (weak calves), I switched from ScubaPro (Seawing) to Force Fins. No regrets. In fact, I can honestly say I do love my Force Fins. They are easy to put on/off, easier to manoeuvre in a boat and most importantly for me, far less stress on my calves when diving. :D I am not...

Latest Malaria information for Coron & Puerto Galera ??

Dengue is the issue, you can take malaria pills (Eg. Malarone) as I always do, but dengue is a viral infection spread by Aedes mosquito, it is nicknamed 'break bone fever.' Don't take it lightly, I was infected (Dengue-1, there are 4-types) in 2010 (Sipadan) - spent 3 days shivering in a Beijing...
