Looking for large mesh gear bag

I've been putting up with my old mesh duffle ever since I went with BP/W. Zipper barely closed and now it broke. So, need some direction from others that had a similar problem.

    SPG Location?

Just bought new BP/W and I'm planning to get 40 cu in pony. The preferred location for SPG is clipped to same waist D-ring the (bottom of pony) is clipped to. So, I see a problem there. Thinking of adding another D-ring for SPG but on shoulder below existing D-ring that top of pony will be...

    Gas Math

Taking IANTD Deep Diver course in preparation for Advanced Nitrox and Deco procedures. To me, manual is not very well written and leaves a lot to be desired. Anyway, instructor sent me a question(s) that I can't answer. Q: Dive plan is 32% for 20 minutes. Don't exceed 1.4 PPO2. How deep can...

    Advice on DR BP/W

Anybody out there know anything about DiveRite Custom Singles DGX BP/Wings? Seems to be a good (sale) deal at $299. As near as I can tell, it's a basic hog harness, 25 lb wing, tank straps, crotch strap...looks like aluminum BP comes with it or pay $20 xtra for SS Shopping for first BP/W so I...

    Predator question

I'm just a rec diver but love my Predator. Why is the choice of 'last stop' 10' or 20' ? I have been advised to set it at 10' I know that this is in the 'deco' part of 'system set up' but why not have a choice at 15' ?

    SS1 free flow

I have an Atomic Z2 reg with Atomic SS1 second purchased new about 4-1/2 years ago. Reg has always been good with no problems. SS1, not so much. Towards the end of 2nd year, SS1 free flowed....fortunately I was at a shallow depth. Didn't freak me out too bad as I was close to the 2 year...

    What pony size?

Been thinking for a while about a redundant air source. I'm thinking either 19 or 30cu ft. What are advantages (other than less/more air) disadvanatges if any?

    Advice changing out SPG

Purchased brass SPG to replace current plastic, should arrive Tuesday. But the things is, I've never changed out hoses/guages before. I've reseached but haven't found much info. Torque seems to be a little more than hand tight? How about lube? thanks in advance

    Regulator tuning question

I recently had my Atomic reg & SS1 serviced. I tried it out in the shop and both were fine. 2 days later hooking up gear at BHB and SS1 started free flowing. Long story short, tech at Pure Vida adjusted SS1 with allen wrench. I haven't had any regulator training but this seems like something...

    No fin fight, OK?

I'm posting this hoping I won't get a fight started over fins. I've been diving for 4 years and have had my Atomic splits from the beginning. I like them and they've served me well except for the frog kick and a few times caught in a ripping current. I've tried to do frog a few times with my...

'Full size wrist computer" part II

A used Shearwater Predator (supposed to be in good working order and 1 scratch on outside of case) for $600 + shipping. The catch? Shipping from Canada for UPS was quoted as $25.41 + duty appx. $25-$30. OR new Galileo Luna for $648 no tax, no shipping from Colorado. I know the Predator is a...

Advice on 'full size' wrist computer

Was shopping for a larger computer without spending $1000 or more when I came across the Mares Nemo Wide for around $500. Well, I was doing my due diligence by looking online at the Mares site, reviews, vendors when I found out it uses the most (RGBM) conservative algorithm to be had. Not that...

Question: Why can't you calibrate SPG?

OK, so I take my reg in to get serviced today. This isn't the shop who I've used in the past...they're slammed & I didn't want to wait for 2 weeks. But I've been in there and bought stuff ( new mask, wetsiut top, spool, yadda yadda) before. And they've always come across as professional. Today...

    Cheapo Dive Rite

I have a Dive Rite Niteck Plus computer that was overpriced for what it was when I bought it. But being new at the time....you don't know what you don't know, right? Anyway, it was time for a new battery (nope, not user friendly). So, I called to get mailing instructions, would they email me...

    Book not listed here?

Looked thu this forum but I didn't see anything mentioned about this book. Has anyone read The Complete Diver: The History, Science and Practice of Scuba Diving by Alex Brylske? If so, what do you think? Pretty ($30) pricey so I thought I would ask.

    Lines on their faces

I have noticed that on the cable shows Deep Sea Detectives and Quest for Sunken Warships Chatterton, Kolher, etc have lines (outlines of their mask) after their dive(s). I've been taught not to tighten mask too tightly so I don't think that's the reason. I'm guessing it's because of 200' dives?

    DC 1000 Video Help

    Hip Transplant Help

I had a hip transplant 8 weeks ago. My goal was to be able to dive Blue Heron Bridge (shore dive, only about 50' to the water) at 12 weeks. I figure it will be less stress with no pitching deck or ladders to climb. I checked multiple sites and most people say I should be able to walk without a...

    Who's right?

Just finished Last Dive by B. Chowdhbury. Primarily, it tells the story of the Rouse's Chris and Chrissy that died in 1992 from diving what was still unidentified (at the time) German U boat....later ID'd as the U 869 by Chatterton. The author states that Chatterton demanded that the CG...
