    custom made logbook

Most people speak/understand more than one language and English continues to be the lingua franca. Only North Americans speak only one language (and that poorly), even my taxi driver in Kuwait spoke/understood 8-9 languages. We assume that English will be spoken/understood by everyone and...

Been out of the photo scene for a while - appears that prices have gotten worse...

I think the cost of the housings are very reasonable, given the fact that they are a very low production runs,R&D required, complexity etc. The purchase price is high but if you upgrade regularly you can recoup a lot of the cost, or keep the old camera as a backup. Diving is an expensive hobby...

Thresher shark season in Bali. The slaughter begins again !

Sad to see people looking for excuses to continue unsustainable activities like shark fishing/finning. It is truly tragic to see such short sighted activities condoned. These fishermen need to understand that they are slitting their own throats by ruining their own livelihoods. education...

What is the best luxury resort to dive at in Bali?

I would look at either Ocean View or Liberty. There is also a nice new resort beside Liberty but I can't remember the name. All are nice, have family bungalows wirh privacy for all and are easy walking distance to all the restaurants in Tulamben. All bout the same price range.

Closest Tulamben resorts to Liberty wreck?

I have done many dives with both Liberty and TWD, both have great guides, about the same distance to the wreck, the rooms at Liberty are better, in my opinion. Both have good cooked breakfasts. Blue Hill is miles from the wreck and requires a car to get there, they have no wifi (as of Feb...

Roll call: Any old NASDS divers out there?

I got certified in Montreal in !973 and did my open water in the Richelieu river in May, just after ice out. COLD! Visibility was miserable and the whole experience turned me off. Now certified with Padi. I was really surprised when I got my Padi certification in 1984, it was so easy...

    Diving in Kuwait

Abdulrahman, if you understaood Engliosh a bit better you would understand that what I wrote about Kuwait is my OPINION, as I was asked to provide. Pretending that there are no problems in the country is the reason why the country is stagnant. The Emir is well aware of the problems and is...

    Bali Dive shop request

Yeah I agree, Ahmed ahs more places to eat and drink. Has a co,pletey different feel than Tulamben. I spend about 8-10 weeks a year in Tulamben.. Get to know the people, undersatnad how real people in Bali live. Ahmed is full of "tourists", not divers. The local touts are agressive, the...

    Diving in Kuwait

I've lived in Kuwait for five years and haven't bothered trying to dive here. The water is filthy and vis very low. Not much to see from what I have heard. It's only a short flight to Sharm al Shiek where the price is low, the diving is great and there is BEER! Oh, didn't mean diving at...
