Looking for BRIGHT UV dive light (395nm)

See TillyTec - ein einzigartiges Lampensystem - contact BTW, the TillyTec torch TillyTec - ein einzigartiges Lampensystem - MPL 500/UV Light has "UV" in its name but it's actually a broadband LED in the violet range (ca. 400-430 nm), last thing I know (might have changed in the meantime if Tilly...

    Bent on New Year

Dear Mariana, one thing that has changed after 200+ dives with certainty is your behaviour under water. Your pattern of movement changed, your SAC (surface air consumption) rate changed. But likely nobody can tell how that influences your risk to get bent... Boa sorte!!

    "Fluorescent dive" light

There is more to it than just a blue LED and a piece of yellow plexiglas; see e.g. FireDiveGear.com: Excitation Filters and FireDiveGear.com: Barrier Filters for explanations and illustrations why. For just trying it out once that might be sufficient, but you may not get a very good result. I...

    "Fluorescent dive" light

The problem with UV is that the fluorescence excited by true UV light is rather poor, compared to the use of blue light. Challenging Poor Buddy Skills -

I actually did "debrief" her, in a friendly way, and told her I never knew where and who she was among the crowd, and that this was precisely the reason why I had asked her to carry a marker light, during briefing, which she had refused. Her reaction during the debriefing was something like, "Oh...

    Challenging Poor Buddy Skills -

One thing that happened over and over again to me: During night dives the other divers of the group (including a dive instructor and my "buddy") were not in the slightest concerned with me staying behind (because I was taking pictures). They didn't even notice. They wandered off so far that I...

Small incidents and mishaps - sound familiar?

Dear divers, Torben Lønne from Dive.in magazine asked on Google+ about any bad experiences involving instructors, divemasters or dive buddys. Here are a few stories: I haven't experienced any nightmares yet, the stupidest thing I ever saw (January 2009 at the house reef at Punta Cana) was a...
