Following. I'll be there in August (Tikehau, Rangiroa, Fakarava, and Moorea), and splitting my Fakarava days (14th-19th) between north and south, staying at Tetamanu while in the south.

I wouldn’t try the same day regardless. I was more-so thinking along the lines of an afternoon or evening dive if I have a morning flight to the next atoll. So, it being 12 hours, but not 24.

I'm trying to map out a trip to the FP for the beginning of August for a little over 2 weeks. For the Tuamoto portion, I don't think I'll have time to do Fakarava, Tikehau, and Rangiroa without losing too many dives to travel days. There's no way I'm skipping Fakarava, so how would y'all compare...

Are there any dive ops there that have multiple tank pickup locations along the island like they do in Bonaire? We'll be staying a little to the north, and, at least by looking at a map, it seems like all of the dive shops are to the south. Thanks in advance,

Yeah, the two groups were separated enough to where we rarely ran into each other, but there were only two groups. And yes, I was with Emperor.

There were two groups on the boat. Yes, some of us would go “unguided”, but we geared up, got in, and went down as two groups. And when you’re just on a pinnacle, often with a lot of current, it’s not like there is a ton of space to spread out, so each group ended up in the same area regardless...

It was about half and half. I banged on my tank like crazy and made a b-line to the guide. He gave me his octo while he shut it off, retightened it, and turned it back on. Lost half nearly my tank in less than probably 20 seconds. I still had 1500, so I kept going. But it started leaking...

Thanks! I flew into Cairo and spent a day there before flying to Hurghada and transferring to the boat in Port Ghalib. Did the far south route and the BDE route back to back with them. Then did a private tour from there to Luxor for 2 days, then back to stay in El Gouna for a couple of days...

I'm flying from Texas to Washington DC so I can fly the new Egypt Air business class to Cairo and spend a day there. I then fly to Hurghada the next morning. I had Emperor arrange my transfer to the boat from Hurghada.

On the May 19th outing? If so, I look forward to meeting ya'. I'm doing back to back trips with them, starting on the 19th. They had been extremely responsive to my emails throughout the booking process, so I'd definitely recommend dropping them a line.

Honestly, other than the pyramids and maybe the museum, I haven’t come across anything else in Cairo that interests me much. So, my 1 day and 1 night there will likely be enough for me. Camping in the white desert would have been cool, but I don’t have enough days for something that remote.
