    Bonaire dining question

Bonaire is an excellent place to eat out and has a few nice little fine dining spots which deserve a try. I wouldn't compare them with Andrea's at The Wynn in Vegas, our local Nobu in Malibu or JiRaffe in Santa Monica but then the bill will be likely less than half. At Sea, Appetite, It Rains...

Diving in Fakarava with Dive Spirit: an excellent decision

I think we tried to book Havaiki but it was not available on our dates but I'm glad we could find an alternative. Pension Tokerau Village will be lodgings for our stay at the North Pass. I read your TA reviews and feel like packing my stuff tonight. :)

Diving in Fakarava with Dive Spirit: an excellent decision

Thanks for the report. Which pension did you stay at and did you have any luggage issues on the internal flight? I will visit Fakarava for a week during a trip to Polynesia this month.

Olympus 12-50mm lens, gear set and port for Nauticam EM5 Housing

The Olympus 12-50mm zoom lens is water resistant and came as a kit lens when I bought the OM-D camera. I bought the port and gear set for the Nauticam EM5 underwater housing. The port has a knob which allows switching from macro to wide angle modes. Port, gear set and 12-50mm zoom lens - $750 +...

If I had to pick one it would be At Sea but Appetite, Capriccio and It Rains Fishes were great too.

Fakarava and Rangiroa - which of them, and for how long?

We booked a similar trip, El-Gee, at the end of the year but decided to fly directly to Fakarava from Papeet. We will spend four nights staying in the South and then three nights at the North of Fakarava. The next leg of the trip will be 7 nights in Rangiroa then back to Papeet via a short stay...

Did you do a Discover Scuba?

Discover Scuba was the slipperiest slope I have ever stepped on. Almost three years later, every vacation has been a dive vacation, we have done many other classes, we have spent a lot on dive gear and recently made another mistake in renting an underwater camera for a day which induced us to...

    Best zoom available

I have not used my E-M5 underwater (can't get ports), but see well through the EVF with my mask on. There is also an optional angled viewfinder which, while expensive, is reported to work very well. No underwater chimping! ;)

    Best zoom available

+1 on the EVF. It brings instant manual shooting capability to the masses. You see the effect of exposure settings as you change aperture, shutter or ISO. It's so easy, that in order to offset my feelings of cheating, I'm shooting rolls of B&W film in an old rangefinder for some of the time. ;)

What is the most essential port OM-D EM-5 for my case

The ports for the 12-50mm and the 60mm macro have special gears and buttons to enable macro and focus limiting functions. There is no way to get the best out of each of these lenses without buying the ports Nauticam designed specifically for them. This is speculation on my part, based on the...

What is the most essential port OM-D EM-5 for my case

I noticed a new chart up at the Nauticam web site for m4/3 cameras. It lists ports "coming soon" for the Olympus 12mm/f2 and the 60mm/f2.8 Macro and these are the ones I want to buy. The chart is at the bottom of the page. Nauticam International Ltd.

Lens Choice for Surface Photography for OM-D E-M5 Camera

I see Olympus are coming out with a faster 17mm/f1.8 prime which looks almost as small. I expect it might cost a bit more though. First two Olympus 17mm f/1.8 image samples… | 43 Rumors
