Where to get and what size

I am looking for a pair of Excellerating Force Fins. Can anyone suggest where can I get them in the Toronto, Canada area? What size should I get, L, XL or XXL? I am wearing size 11 street shoes. Will be wearing them over the normal boot that goes with the 3 mm wetsuit. Also what are pro and...

    best fins for backfinning

Excellerating Force Fins look to be unconventional, but an interesting option. They seem to be lightweight, which is good for traveling to tropical destinations. How much do they weight? Where to buy them? So far I was only able to find them Force Fin website, and they are EXPENSIVE - $395...

    best fins for backfinning

Hello fellow photographers, My question is about the skill, which is needed for every photographer - backfinning. I have been practicing it; so far unable to really master it. I understood that the type of fins you use plays the role here. Mine are Mares classic type fins. May be I should...

Any special preliminary checks on new housing?

Check the buoyancy of your complete setup. It might be a little too negative. Operating a heavy rig underwater could be quite stressful task let alone it may affect your own buoyancy balance. You may need to add some floats. Also the first dive in the swimming pool would be the safest.

16:9 vs. 4:3 for photo format

Check how it is implemented in your camera. I believe in most cameras if you set 16:9, you are cropping the native 4:3 or 3:2 image. You are effectively loosing some top and bottom portions of your picture. Unless you are not planning to do any post-processing and completely satisfied with...

    Looking at buying a dSLR camera, need some input (T2i, T3i, T4i, T5i, 60D or ??)

Before deciding on housing check if it is has ports compatible with lenses that you plan to use underwater. It might happen that a housing that you choose doesn't have a port for your preferable lens. You have to consider much more things than just which camera model is better and less...

My images are not sharp - please help

Looking at pictures and data I do not see any light coming from strobes; ambient only. That’s why you are forced to set that long exposure. With strobes properly working you should be setting the shutter speed to something like 1/100 to 1/400 on the DX-2G (no matter what is your aperture...

Battery life Sea & Sea DX 2G

From my experience. I bought two inexpensive replacement batteries for my 2G, one rated 1250mAh and another 1600mAh. Both turned out to be garbage. They didn't last, had to be replaced after each dive. The 1600mAh rated was the worst battery, sometimes it couuldn't survive one dive. Then I...

Considering a EOS 60D - Should I get it and with what lense as my "go-to" lens?

There is more than camera and lenses to consider, when selecting a housing – lighting system. That’s probably is a rebel part of your nature that makes you ignoring what other people say :) (please forgive me being personal on the public forum). The first time you use a strobe underwater will...

Considering a EOS 60D - Should I get it and with what lense as my "go-to" lens?

Check again what LiteWeight said. Selecting housing think ahead what lenses you would want to have in the future, not just the first lens.
