Donsol in late july, places to stay?

Well, we are here in Giddys. First dives tomorrow. The rooms are okay, the food in the restaurant is excellent. The dive staff seems good. They will let my wife and I drop on our own (which we kind of prefer) and we will go look inside some of the caves/cutouts around San Miguel and see...

    Sanctum - dive movie REVIEW

I've got vox comms, but we usually turn the vox off and use the PTT .. keeps the expletives off the air and conserves battery.

Pacific Trash Vortex! Wow! I had no idea it was this bad!

Oregon State University assistant professor Angelicque "Angel" White who participated in an expedition to gauge plastic debris and studied the literature, figures the size of a hypothetically "cohesive" plastic patch in the North Pacific Ocean is actually less than 1 percent the geographic size...

Help me plan a BUDGET trip to max my diving.

Relatively speaking it is.. Finding a local guide would be a good idea. (like others) I would recommend $150.00 or slightly more per day as a better budget. Plan on not sleeping in the airconditioning at these rates unless you are really lucky.

    Color at depth science project

We never used markers in my day. Though in most places you'd work commercially the ambient light was gone long before the working depth was reached (or it was obscured by some overhead) and you brought your own light (which also has color correction problems) Perhaps your teacher is thinking...

    Philippines in July/Aug??

July is my favorite time to visit. Its the traditional "low" season and most places (even boracay) are not full up and quite often you'll be the only group on the dive boat. (or even the plane, as last july my family was the only ones on the SeaAir flight from Manila) The DMs and other...

What wetsuit should I bring in Feb?

I had no trouble with a speedo and a shorty last year in Feb. Most everyone was diving 3s with a few 5mm. My wife who gets cold while looking a picture of snow was in a 3 with a hoodie vest.

Where is the best place to live and dive in Texas?

DFW has plenty of cold low viz mudholes to practice in .. and DFW airport will get you pretty much anywhere you want to go to actually dive where you don't loose sight of your hand when your arm is fully extended. We do have a big dive shop which is somewhat of a plus... its called wal-mart...
