    Help with dive light

It sounds like the batteries aren't making good contact with the circuit with the gasket in. If you have springs see if you can stretch them out to make better contact with the batteries.

DRIS 1000 Lumen Can Light... thoughts?

hroark2112, I highly recommend not buying Ultrafire or any other battery that says ...-fire. These are some of the poorest quality Li-ion batteries. Their stated battery capacity is most likely wrong. There's been many tests on various Li-ion cells which show whose are good. The...

    Battery chargers

After you charge them check the voltage with a digitial multimeter or equivilant. That's to verify they got charged to the proper voltage (~4.2V) and that your $1 batteries are not defective somehow. It's a good safety practice.

    Battery chargers

I prefer a mult-cell charger, because charging one battery at a time is not fun. & a charger that does either Ni-MH & Li-ion (lithium ion) cells, so you don't have to worry about what you put in the charger. I really like the XTAR chargers. for example: XP-4c my Xtar VP-2 (AMZN) shows the...

    18650 protection circuit

yes, some do protect against shorts. e.g. this Panasonic 18650 w/Seiko protection circuit. It was also stated in the longer info doc. from HKJ. Just control F and search for "short" Like scubastingray said the protection circuits add length to the nominal 18650 cell. 18 = 18mm width 65...

    18650 protection circuit

How much shorter? a couple millimeters? ok then Protection circuits come in different varities. But mostly likely if you get a Li-ion w/protection circuit it will have overdischarge and underdischarge protection. So for example, if you were using your dive light with a protected 18650 and...

Brinyte DIV10 "3000 Lumen" Canister light Review

First of all I'm happy you decided to do this review. Lots of useful info there. I think a lot of us are moving toward or considering the 3 x LED lights. If done right they should put out a lot of lumens. You may want to consider mtnelectronics for your batteries. He's a flashlight...

    Looking for a light....

Some rechargeable Ni-MH batteries may not fit in the battery carrier. My XX Eneloops don't work. But there are mix results with this. I think most cells work fine. I like to use a single Li-ion battery rather than AA cells. 26500 Li-ion. see BLF review.

    Looking for a light....

yeah like Subcooled said, you want a light with a concentrated beam like the UK SL3 (buy: Amzn). You can see the beam profile on this page (third light down). - Not saying I like this light in any way though. As for batteries - there are rechargable Ni-MH C cells. That UK light used a...

    DGX 600 Dive Light

Brinyte builds some great dive lights. Some other businesses have bought these and put their own logo on them... Securitylng is one. DRIS is another. And the DGX 600 from DiveGearExpress is another example. Here's Brinyte's new website.

    DGX 600 Dive Light

That light will likely blow away your other dive lights. It's actually made by Brinyte and I've done several reviews on their product line. See Brinyte DIV05 In short the light is compact, robust, and bright. It can easily become your favorite dive light. the statement... "The DGX 600 has...

    Intova torch switch failure

The pic below is the inside of a flashlight tailcap with a switch. Sometimes the switch parts get unscrewed and the switch doesn't work right. When that happens I take my pointed tweezers, insert them in those holes and tighten it back up turning clockwise. Is it possible that you have...

no, not looking for any reviews - I made this clear in the Questions and Answers portion (post 1). So there's no obligations on the part of the winner. **I am inclined to do this for england333 being that this is your first post here on SB and it looks like your a newer diver.** If I did...

    MRTdiver's Dive Light Give Away

ok Tom, I have one built if you would like it... > single mode > XP-G2 - it has a smooth reflector i.e. no dimples or what we call an "orange peel" reflector. This improves throw a little more. > 1.7A (amps) - I didn't do a run time test. I would have to stay up quite a while to...

HID vs LED for night diving

just a quick comment... The flicker we sometimes see in LED lights under video is from PWM (pulse width modulation). Some LED lights don't have any PWM on High, but very often on lower brightness levels the driver uses PWM to "dim" the light and based on the PWM frequency will make it more or...
