Blackwater Diving Recommendations in West Palm

As others have said, Pura Vida and Walker's Dive Charters are the only two operations in the whole area doing black water dives. Pura Vida goes out on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Force E uses Walker's operation, which goes out generally on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. The actual mechanics of...

Shearwater Perdix AI Error Loading Dive

Thanks, yes, I changed the setting and it fixed the error on the computer display. Last night's dive also logged correctly. As you suspected, it did not fix the error on the prior dive's log, but that is fine. Thanks for the reply!

I found it - under T1 setup you set the tank rating. Hopefully that will fix both issues. Thanks

Shearwater Perdix AI Error Loading Dive

Last night for the first time I dove with a steel 100CF tank. The PSI was 3400 and was in red on the display, though it functioned correctly. After the dive I am unable to access the log information for that dive - I am getting a message "error loading dive." I suspect the two are related and...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

These are Flabellina dushia, page 238 in the Caribbean Sea Slugs book. Used to be very common, this year not so much. For some reason, there are only a few around now. They feed on hydroids and the hydroids have been dying off.

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Hi, I don't post very often, and when I do it is usually about nudibranchs. But I photographed the long lure frogfish yesterday and it has a damaged chin, and a milky eye. I think it is time to leave the poor thing alone...... On the same note, this week on the east side I have seen a puffer...

Vis today was good, at least 25 feet, maybe 30. Looked awesome from the pilings, but was less when you got out south of the bridge on the west side. Temperature 74 degrees. Linda

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Interesting, the purple eggs (the middle image) are from Cypraecassis testiculus (Linnaeus, 1758) Reticulate Cowrie-helmet. I tracked a set for a while in 2013 and the results are logged here: Cypraecassis testiculus (Linnaeus, 1758) Reticulate Cowrie-helmet At that time they hadn't been seen...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Hi, Jenny. Your "to be identified" nudi is a Cerberilla tanna, page 276 in the Caribbean Sea Slugs book. I have seen several of them recently, and they are so photogenic with their sharp eye spots. Linda

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

It is a Magnificent Urchin, Astropyga magnifica, page 379 in the Humann/DeLoach Reef Creature book (2nd edition). The book says it is rare and prefers deep-water habitats, but has been seen a couple of times at the bridge......

Wow - video from John - excellent! And yes, I can't believe you don't have a snowstorm based on the conditions..... I was surprised too by the lack of sand spots in some of my images.
