This is why we are not supposed to feed marine wildlife!

Though that guy was not very smart, feeding marine animals is a touchy subject for a number of reasons. One big reason for feeding wildlife is that it can generate interest centered around having live marine creatures, instead of killing them. IE: Sting Ray City. If this didn't exist/bring in...

The dolphin slaughter in Japan has begun...

Why hasn't the ALF or ARM done something aggressive about this situation?

    Thirsty while diving

I'm pretty sure almost any camelback would work fine if properly employed? IE: Don't open/close the valve unless your lips on are the mouthpiece.

    dual tank BCD'S

What is is other empty hose for? Do double tank wings take two hoses for inflation? Also, with a double tank setup like that, though the regulators are attached to seperate first stages, you can deplete both tanks by breathing from the primary regulator right? Does the air automatically breath...

sailing the farm - join our sea gypsy commune!

I am the farthest thing from a hippy, and say: This. Is. Awesome. I've always been interested in sustainable farming as well as boat-building, so this is a double-whammy. I love how your ship is a blending of the old and the new. I spent 3 weeks on the ocean in a replica viking ship and it was...

    Big toe cramp, bunions/hammertoes.

Hello! So, I have very bad bunions/hammertoes. I've never had a problem with them in the water though, but recently I have been getting horrible big toe cramps. I have very good form and never get cramps in my legs or calves...I was wondering if there was anything I could do, IE: Are there ways...

    Adopt a Soldier

Great threas. I'm an Infantry Marine with 1st Batallion 6th Marine Regiment. I just got back from my second tour in the Ghan. Care packages rule! I suppose it'd be un-PC to say but...the two most sought after items in the field where tobacco products and cleverly conceled booze (amber...

Diving shirt design idea, input would be very appreciated.

Haha no worries dude no offense taken at all. Anything I do is definitely not for the majority. It's things that interest me and hopefully other like minded people, but if not that is ok as well. I'm sure the way I dress (I'm a metalhead, bullet belts, tight pant, leather jacket, blahblahblah)...

Diving shirt design idea, input would be very appreciated.

I see what you are saying, though I think clothing like Fox is gaudy and alpinestar is a bit to close to affliction in the way they often clutter their shirts with design elements. I think the dive flag actually has a bit of potential behind it, I like the simplicity. I'm not saying this very...

Diving shirt design idea, input would be very appreciated.

Thank you, I was just trying to look into that actually. As well as the way the corners cut off the stripe on the actual dive flag, somehow evoking that as well. Back to the drawing board! Well...the drawing board for the first time really, hah, that was MS Paint shenanigans =P.

Diving shirt design idea, input would be very appreciated.

I shall! Thanks. That literally took only a couple min, heh, I'm workign on one with much deeper red, like an actual dive flag. I was thinking of putting 'Same Planet, Different World' along the side of the waistline.

Diving shirt design idea, input would be very appreciated.

Hey all! So this is a very simple design I've come up with that I can't believe doesn't exist, as far as I can find: This is extremely extremely rough of course, haha, but you get the idea. I'm not asking anyone to say whether they would actually buy it from me, just that would this...

    Books on the oldschool...

Does anyone have any recommendations on books that cover old-time diving? bathysphere, surface supplied helmet diving, diving bells, ancient sponge divers, etc. Multiple books on specific subjects as well as general history books are all welcome. Thanks!

    Hi! Help in NC.

Hey all, I was wondering if there was anyone I could PM or AIM or Facebook or something, around the Jacksonville, NC area. I have a few questions about spearfishing around here, I am a mega-noob, but am eager to learn. Most importantly, I don't pretend I know anything, hah!

Is 7mm overkill for coastal NC right now?

Welp, the decision was made for me. Trying on my new 7mm, a tear opened on the neck-seal. So, I've returned it and am swapping it for a 3mm. In a few months I will get a 7mm.
