For a sole diver I'd suggest Buddy Dive as you can usually find someone in a similar situation. As you only have OW certification you may find yourself fairly limited for dive buddies or to only boat dives though - hope that helps. Your other option is to put a shout out here on SB to see who's...

You've got some really good suggestions in this thread, but after c15+ trips to Bon (and also ignoring the Manta seen at Cliff) I'd go with Tori's Reef, dive it late in the afternoon and there a good chance you'll get eagle rays feeding on the sand on the swimout, and Oil Slick leap, as dive...

As a regular to Bonaire for over 10 years I'd agree with the previous comments, but would add that if the park is where you want to be, treat it as a day trip, pack food , plenty of water, as many tanks as you can , leave early and make a whole day of it,(don't forget the tyre inflator!!)...

Firstly can I just say good choice on Belmar I'm sure you will have a great time. Belmar is part of the Buddy Dive group on the island so the office at Belmar will organise, although Chrissy had a female instructor (Mariska) working for her a little while ago and she's also very good Cheers Andy

Speak to Chrissie who runs Belmar resort on the Island- she is a great DI and if she's not available she will give you a solid recommendation

I've dived in Bonaire every year for the last 11 years. If you follow the "windows down, don't take it in the truck if you dont want to lose it" rule you will have no problems at all. Every dive op on the island includes this as part of their orientation, but you still hear of people who left...
