Trying to compensate for feet down trim when wearing no exposure protection and little weight

Same point as in Post #3 about the AL80 being buoyant which you already acknowledged in Post #9.

Recent Opinions On Air Integrated Computers For Technical Diving

Steve Bogaerts only uses AI for all his diving on CCR and SM, including exploration dives. He discusses some of the issues already brought up in this thread in his post.

Hypothetical - 2 AI transmitters instead of backup SPG?

Are you sure about this? Isn't the ETOPS Limitation on Dual Maintenance rule to never overhaul/check/maintain both engines at the same time at the same location? To prevent the exact problem you are describing?

hogarthian rig and a HP transmitter

Just wanted to re-post what someone else had posted about Steve Bogaerts having switched to just using transmitters instead of analog SPGs for all his diving (both CCR and SM): Steve Bogaerts

Being left on the dive site: How to avoid and how to survive...

I would not replace the Lifeline with a PLB, I would add the PLB. You want to have an escalation policy which has the PLB as the final step, when all the other signaling devices have failed.

Travel to Cozumel got more difficult this year

The expiration date of your Avios points is with BA's Executive Club and not tied with your Chase credit card. My recommendation would be to charge $1 on the card to refresh the Executive Club account date and then move to a no annual fee Chase card for that account. You will then have 36 months...

Feedback Wanted: Apeks Spool & Halycon Big DSMB

Is this the Super BIG DAM? If yes, not sure how doable that will be to inflate underwater unless you are shooting it from very deep. I was recently in Cozumel with my GUE instructor for some fun dives and we settled on both of us needing to participate to launch the Super Slim DAM from 30 ft...

    Coz Tanks & O-Rings

IMHO, by far the easiest way to check if there is any leak problem prior to splashing is to: assemble all the gear open the valve to pressurize the system fully close the valve, note the SPG reading keep an eye or stand near your gear to make sure no one purges or otherwise disturbs it wait...

GUE (and other non-PADI) Open Water Standards for No-Deco Limits

    Beqa Shark Attack

Wowzers! I do hope that @BDinSH still uploads since the perspective would be from the other side and much closer/clearer.

Just went crazy buying new gear ($1400 Atomic BC1 BCD, TWO Atomic Cobalts, B2, M1, SS1..) STOP ME!!!

You cannot go wrong with a Shearwater. The Petrel 2 does everything you would ever need, the only downside would be it's size. I would not overly worry about AI right now unless you get a Perdix AI/Teric for a crazy price like you got the Cobalts. You don't need to get a transmitter to start...

Just went crazy buying new gear ($1400 Atomic BC1 BCD, TWO Atomic Cobalts, B2, M1, SS1..) STOP ME!!!

As @chillyinCanada said, you know plenty! The biggest issue with the Cobalts is not the algorithm or the ability to handle helium, but the fact they are consoles. Tech diving requires accurate buoyancy control during the entire dive, but especially when ascending. The only way to do that...

Newbie looking for carry-on luggage suggestions to put gear in.

Bulletproof checked bags are great, but very heavy. Your Pelican Air 1615 is 14.06 lbs (6.4 kg) without foam. That would be 28% of a typical 50 lbs / 23 kg bag weight limit. I wouldn't want to allocate that much weight to the bag, and would prefer something like Cargo Hauler Wheeled Duffel 130L...

    Beqa Shark Attack

You cannot upload it directly to ScubaBoard, but you could upload it to YouTube and then link. If you don't want to use YouTube, Streamable - video for publishers works well and doesn't require an account for less than 10 min or 1GB files.

Added tourniquet to my thigh pocket

The only argument here is when to apply the CAT. Are you saying that in the US Military training, it is apply CAT for any arterial bleed on an extremity before trying pressure? Is it apply CAT before moving the injured person to a safe area?

How much extra neoprene for repetitive dives on liveaboard?

Something like this can do wonders underneath a 5mm or 3mm wetsuit: WOMEN'S THERMOCLINE HOODED VEST - Fourth Element Shop Hooded Vest — Lavacore International Chillproof Vest with Hood - Womens The super nice thing is that you don't have to put the hood up and it disappears since it is not...

GUE (and other non-PADI) Open Water Standards for No-Deco Limits

To reinforce the point, here is the Subsurface plan with GF 100/100. The scariest part of this is that with a SAC of 0.7 cuft/min, this dive would require 95 cuft!

@Bob DBF do you consider this NDL? It shows the same 30 min at 100ft.

    GUE Fundamentals Class Dutch Springs

Actually, lower vis (more material in the water) makes it easier to maintain buoyancy due to the visual reference. For fun sometimes, try and do an S-drill in 100+ ft visibility in blue water at 30 ft with no bottom. If you don't have a scan already built up that constantly glances at your...

GUE (and other non-PADI) Open Water Standards for No-Deco Limits

It is NDL diving, check the depths and times with your favorite computer. The reason it is called MDL is that 1 min per 10ft is just the standard GUE deco ascent speed. So, in the spirit of "starting with the end in mind..." they teach even a newbie OW diver that ascent speed control and...
