Hi phlegm, sorry for the delay, I'm not getting notifications from SB for some reason. The regs were sold this past weekend, so I'm all out of gear now.
Apparently after 24 hours we're no longer able to edit our posts--will just give an update. Several things have sold and I've lowered prices on things that haven't sold. Will lower prices again in a few days if these prices don't get things sold. Here's the list now:
Apeks regset 1 (Yoke)...
Moving overseas and need to sell off most of my beloved dive gear. Here's a list with asking prices:
Scubapro Jet Fins (XL size). Brand new, never in the water. $50.
Zeagle Scout back-inflate BC (M size). Looks almost new, not used much. $150.
Mares Vector Origin jacket-style BC (XS size)...
Hi folks, I haven't been on this board for ages since I haven't been able to go diving for ages :(
As part of spring cleaning I've gone through my dive gear and have some stuff my wife has convinced me I can bring myself to part with. Putting my dear gear on craigslist has a sort of...
Once NOAA fixes buoy 42012 (scheduled for sometime this month) you can check surface water temps to get a general idea for the area. You can probably expect around 65-70 degrees F on the surface around this time in November.
Didn't make it there in time for the "event" itself but arrived in time to get a garbage bag from them before they left to do a little bit of our own cleanup. Our kids were with us so we were limited to snorkeling and freediving; even so I got two 3-oz lead weights and several yards of attached...
A good place to get the marine forecast for our area is here.
Notice that none of the next week's conditions include weather that's really conducive to diving in the Gulf--like Hetland said you hope for 1 to 2 foot or maybe 1 to 3 foot seas; more than that and it will be an uncomfortable...
My goodness, the website really defies parody; I'm reading it like a book, as the navigation seems to be by page number. Some of the pages along the way have been blank html templates. I'm currently on page 24 and curious to see how many pages the story goes!
My favorite so far is the...
Well, I guess I've been looking for a reason to get into spearfishing anyway. Do they taste good raw? SWMBO might give approval for me to get a speargun if they make good sashimi!
My wife and I decided to make her second dive after her multi-year hiatus from diving; she dove the first just about 10 days ago at Ft. Pickens. We geared up and were in the water by a bit after 9:00, hoping to hit it right at high tide (supposedly at 10:00am). It may have peaked a little...
Thanks a lot for the report, my wife and I are heading over tomorrow morning to do a one-tank dive right before high tide--hope we run into similar conditions!
Capt. Gene, am I missing something about the Scout wing? Is it somehow different than the optional 35# wing for the Express Tech? I had assumed that Zeagle wings were interchangeable...
Ok, I disassembled the Scout and found that it doesn't use the "Bladder Attachment Straps" (shown as part of the Express Tech assembly in the scuba.com video); rather the camband staps run through the open triglides in the wing. I've seen these bladder attachment straps referred to in Zeagle's...
